Lead corporate and indirect tax functions including preparing tax returns and provisions, SR&ED claims, deferred tax calculations, tax forecasting and planning, compliance with federal/provincial/foreign authorities, tax accounting controls, systems integration, audit coordination, and advising senior management on tax strategies.

Assess impacts, engage stakeholders, develop and execute adoption plans, track KPIs, deliver training and communications, and sustain post-change adoption across departments to align outcomes with operational goals.

Lead contractual and commercial management for Coast Guard programs, representing the shipyard in negotiations with the Government of Canada. Oversee contract development, interpretation, amendments, claims/change orders, invoicing, warranty resolution, reporting, and compliance. Advise with legal counsel, attend program reviews, and supervise the contracts team to drive commercial value and ensure contract performance.

Lead a unionized payroll team to deliver accurate, compliant full-cycle bi-weekly payrolls. Oversee reconciliations, remittances, reporting, year-end activities, system improvements, and stakeholder support. Provide coaching, resolve complex payroll queries, interpret collective agreements, and serve as backup to the Payroll Manager while ensuring legislative and policy compliance.

Maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical and automation systems on Seaspan vessels (including LNG and hybrid-electric). Manage planned maintenance programs, prepare work orders and scopes for refits/dry dock, supervise repairs, source equipment, and mentor shipboard engineers while providing training and technical guidance.
