Provide mechanical engineering support for design, analysis, construction, testing, and maintenance of NSLS-II accelerator mechanical and utility systems. Manage projects end-to-end, produce drawings/specs/calculations, oversee fabrication/installation/testing, support operations and safety, coordinate technical staff and contractors, and present results to stakeholders.

Develop, commission, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize a 4-Kelvin liquid-helium cryogenic plant and related subsystems for superconducting RF cavities. Perform thermal and structural analysis using multiphysics tools, design and procure cryogenic components, produce technical documentation and maintenance plans, mentor junior staff, and provide limited off-hours support for operations.

Lead electrical design and support for facilities modernization projects: develop layouts, calculations, specifications, and construction documents; review shop drawings; perform site visits; mentor junior engineers; assist project managers with scope, budget, and schedule tracking; ensure code compliance and contractor adherence.

Design and document complex mechanical components and systems for an accelerator using 3D CAD; produce fabrication drawings to ANSI Y14.5; support fabrication, testing, installation and commissioning; lead/coordinate project design efforts and mentor drafting staff; participate in design and safety reviews and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and technical staff.

Provide engineering support for beam position monitors and accelerator diagnostics, maintain and repair hardware, develop firmware and software support, collaborate with technicians and scientists, plan maintenance/shutdown activities, and support 24/7 operations readiness.

Develop and deploy ML and HPC workflows, algorithms, and software for DOE scientific applications. Collaborate with domain scientists, scale ML on heterogeneous architectures, ensure correctness and reproducibility, profile and optimize performance, apply software-engineering best practices, and publish and present research. Two-year postdoctoral appointment with possible extension.

Lead delivery of the Hadron Storage Ring WBS within cost, schedule, and technical baselines. Manage multidisciplinary teams for design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Maintain technical baseline, interfaces, and risk mitigation; use federal project management tools (EVMS, scheduling, tracking) for cost/schedule performance. Communicate status to stakeholders and support DOE reviews while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Conduct interdisciplinary research in neuromorphic computing and AI/ML for scientific and security problems, develop algorithms and hardware co-design, collaborate with subject-matter experts, formulate research directions, use DOE computing resources, and communicate results and progress.

Lead Total Rewards strategy and team to design and execute compensation, benefits, recognition, and well-being programs. Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership, ensure regulatory and DOE compliance, oversee salary review processes and audits, use analytics for program effectiveness, and manage benefits, leave, and absence administration. Advise on market benchmarking, job evaluation, and program enhancements to attract, retain, and engage a diverse research and operations workforce.

Lead systems integration for the Electron-Ion Collider: develop and validate performance requirements, manage cross-system interfaces, coordinate technical reviews and meetings, support design reviews, and plan/assist installation and removal activities ensuring system-level traceability and safe implementation.
