Prosecute and defend complex criminal and civil cases for the county; advise and represent county departments (Health & Human Services, Highway, Recorder, etc.); draft pleadings; prepare and present evidence and hearings; negotiate settlements; develop legal strategy and training; manage staff and act for the County Attorney when absent.

Provide supervised, structured public-sector work experience for students or recent graduates. Interns support county operations, interact with the public and staff, complete assigned tasks, attend orientation, and receive evaluation and feedback to augment their education.
