Serve as a judicial officer evaluating criminal charge requests, issuing warrants, conducting initial appearances and bond hearings, presiding over small claims and marriage ceremonies, and working irregular hours in accordance with NC statutes.

Support team activities, participate in market analysis, follow NAIC and state regulations, and maintain timely administrative entries and expense reporting. May require on-site examinations and travel.

Support Project Management Unit by analyzing project and performance data, developing visual reports (Power BI/Excel), tracking fiscal and schedule metrics, maintaining Project Management SharePoint sites, and producing training, guidance, and process improvements to support project managers and unit decision-making.

Provide geomatics engineering and surveying oversight across multiple divisions: perform QA/QC for project delivery, scope and evaluate LiDAR and utility test hole data, manage right-of-way revisions and staking, coordinate with regional and division teams, and represent the Department at public meetings as needed.

Perform procurement for a large state agency: review and approve requisitions in Eprocurement, determine acquisition procedures, draft RFQs/IFBs/RFPs/MOAs/MOUs, coordinate contracts, maintain records and reports, develop specifications, identify vendors, and work with departmental staff and manufacturers. Position is essential during emergencies and supports fleet and statewide purchasing functions.
