Leads all technical operations aboard a cruise vessel, including main and auxiliary machinery, propulsion, electrical systems, environmental systems, safety equipment, and maintenance. Manages the engine department, compliance, budgets, inventories, inspections, crew training, emergency readiness, fuel and waste operations, and technical reporting. Coordinates with the Captain, marine technical department, classification societies, regulators, and other shipboard departments while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant vessel operation.

Provides shipboard IT support, system administration, network and communications equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, backups, security updates, inventory control, and software-license compliance. Supports guests, crew, Captain, Chief Engineer, Hotel Department, and shore-side IT. Maintains servers, PCs, printers, peripherals, internet café systems, physical networks, and onboard communications while participating in safety drills and complying with maritime safety, VMS, and MLC requirements.

Supports the Chief Engineer in leading the Engine Department and ensuring safe, reliable vessel machinery operation. Supervises personnel, coordinates bunkering and technical operations, manages planned and corrective maintenance through Shipsure, and follows up on defects, dry-docking, surveys, and technical projects. Maintains regulatory, safety, environmental, inventory, and emergency-readiness compliance while coordinating with shipboard teams, suppliers, contractors, classification societies, and authorities.

Leads the vessel’s Engine and Electrical departments, overseeing propulsion, power generation, steering, HVAC, auxiliary systems, maintenance, emergency response, regulatory compliance, environmental protection, class surveys, bunkering, budgets, inventory, reporting, and personnel management. Acts as the primary technical advisor to the Master and coordinates with shore management, classification societies, and Port State Control authorities.

Serves as deputy to the Chief Engineer and assumes responsibility for the engine department when needed. Organizes and supervises engineering officers and engine-room ratings, prepares propulsion systems for sea, maintains auxiliary, cargo, and deck machinery, and ensures machinery spaces remain clean and structurally sound.

Maintain safe engine-room watches and operate main and auxiliary engines on RoRo passenger ferries. Lead machinery operations, inspections, repairs, maintenance, fuel and ballast procedures, pollution prevention, safety compliance, and emergency readiness. Supervise oilers and wipers, maintain technical and environmental logs, monitor spare parts and working hours, coordinate with shipboard departments, and report equipment issues to senior engineering officers. The role requires onboard work, irregular schedules, physical exertion, and compliance with maritime regulations.

Manage technical stores aboard a passenger cruise vessel, including ordering, receiving, inventory control, storage, preservation, distribution, shipping, documentation, and budget control for spare parts, tools, and materials. Coordinate with technical departments, suppliers, and ship leadership; maintain logistics processes, safety, sanitation, and organized storage areas. Lead intake activities and support a culturally diverse engine department while ensuring compliance with company policies, STCW, VMS, MLC, and public health requirements.

Second Engineer position aboard a 1,973 GT accommodation barge. Requires 24 months as 2nd Engineer on offshore vessels and at least 12 months on the same vessel type. Must hold a National Chief Engineer (CE) CoC unlimited/with limitation from IMO white list countries. Joining location: UAE. Employer: V.Group providing ship management and marine support services.

Maintain the engine room and equipment (main propulsion engines, auxiliaries, boilers); stand duty in UMS when required; perform electrical maintenance and complete PMS items in ShipSure if no electrician onboard; train and substitute under the Subchief; follow safe working practices and carry out tasks assigned by Chief/Subchief of Machines.

Maintain and repair ship electrical plant and associated systems including power generation, MV/LV distribution, starter panels and automation. Assist Chief ETO with propulsion, elevator, safety and communications systems. Report issues to Chief Engineer/Chief Electro Technical Officer and ensure safety and environmental stewardship.
