The role partners with project and senior managers, contributes to bids and contract pricing, prepares customer reports, and supports finance system and reporting improvements.

Own and deliver complex engineering, science, technology, research, and infrastructure projects across their full lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules, risks, suppliers, contracts, quality, compliance, stakeholder relationships, reporting, governance, and continuous improvement. Projects may involve design, manufacture, assembly, installation, and commissioning in support of fusion energy development.

Provides specialist metrology, inspection, alignment, and measurement expertise across fusion engineering facilities. Maintains procedures, software, hardware, calibration, asset information, and compliance with standards. Plans safe engineering activities, prepares risk assessments and method statements, supports procurement and departmental planning, and mentors apprentices, graduates, and team members. Requires substantial experience with engineering drawings, tolerances, large-scale 2D and 3D measurement, CAD, CAM, CMM, and specialist metrology systems.

Provides specialist administration, troubleshooting, and technical assurance for Solaris platforms supporting critical scientific and enterprise systems. Maintains Solaris environments, legacy applications, scripts, and system tooling; manages risks, vulnerabilities, audits, resilience, migrations, and decommissioning. The role also develops recovery and continuity plans, supports data extraction and system retirement, and communicates technical risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Own systems engineering delivery across complex multidisciplinary fusion-energy projects. Develop requirements, architectures, interfaces, integration plans, and verification evidence; coordinate validation activities; manage technical risks, dependencies, configuration, and change impacts; apply modeling and trade studies; communicate technical decisions to stakeholders; and mentor less experienced engineers.
