Performs monthly general ledger close, journal entries, accruals, account analysis, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, accounts payable and receivable processing, fixed asset reporting, program allocations, and audit support. The Staff Accountant also processes Illinois state payments, responds to staff inquiries, supports Finance Department functions, and learns to cover departmental responsibilities.

Manages full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, sourcing, screening, candidate selection, offers, onboarding, background checks, and compliance documentation. Coordinates job fairs, recruitment advertising, applicant databases, new-hire payroll data entry, records management, and recurring CANTS and MVR checks. Maintains employment-law compliance, accurate reporting, confidentiality, and positive relationships with candidates and staff.
