Provides commercial legal advice across research, enterprise, procurement, partnerships, innovation, intellectual property, data sharing, governance, and public-sector regulatory matters. Drafts, reviews, and negotiates agreements; supports commercialisation and revenue-generating activity; advises senior leaders on legal risk; and contributes to legal literacy and continuous improvement. The role is full-time and permanent within the University of Auckland’s legal, risk, and governance function.

Design, implement, and govern technical security controls for systems processing sensitive health data. Conduct security assessments, validate controls, produce risk and assurance documentation, partner with product and engineering teams, and improve security standards, tooling, and governance to maintain compliance with health security frameworks.

Design, implement, and manage automated patching and vulnerability remediation across cloud and on-prem systems. Lead vulnerability identification, assessment, and remediation using enterprise VM and endpoint tools. Partner with product owners and technical teams to improve reporting, automation, secure configurations, and cyber resilience across the university.

Lead and shape the University of Auckland's e-Research capability, driving strategy, advanced computing, AI-enabled research, research data services, and digital research platforms. Build and lead multidisciplinary teams, partner with academic and technical stakeholders, set investment priorities, and strengthen national and international research infrastructure and collaborations to enable world-class research.

Provide specialist advice, case management, and pastoral support to doctoral candidates. Coordinate admissions, supervision matching, scholarships, onboarding, milestones, examinations, and events. Monitor candidate and supervisor data, support service improvements, and engage stakeholders to enhance doctoral processes and student experience.

Manage and support academic timetabling and enrolment processes: design timetables, allocate rooms and staff, set and maintain enrolment controls, troubleshoot issues, process complex enrolment cases, monitor patterns, and collaborate with faculties and service teams to improve systems and student experience.

Provide financial and operational analysis, build and maintain dashboards and automated reports, deliver market intelligence, gather reporting requirements, support UAT and change management, and present concise data summaries to senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.

The role involves providing comprehensive typed notes for students with disabilities within 24 hours of lectures, ensuring notes are factual and well-structured without personal opinions.
