Counsel supporting joint ventures, operating partnerships, strategic investments, M&A, corporate governance, securities reporting, and capital markets activities. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, advising on contractual and partnership matters, supporting SEC filings and board processes, conducting legal research and due diligence, managing outside counsel, and partnering with Legal, Tax, Finance, Acquisitions, and other business teams.

Owns issue intake, prioritization, vendor coordination, SLA tracking, testing, releases, data quality, reporting, user support, and operational documentation. Supports AI, automation, analytics, modernization, and process-improvement initiatives by defining requirements, scopes, timelines, metrics, business cases, and implementation plans. Prepares executive updates and coordinates cross-functional stakeholders.

Support and operate the enterprise Vulnerability Management Program by administering scanning tools, assessing and prioritizing findings, coordinating remediation, validating fixes, and maintaining exceptions and evidence. The role produces reports and metrics, supports audits and investigations, monitors emerging threats, reviews security baselines, and collaborates with infrastructure, cloud, network, application, endpoint, compliance, and third-party teams to reduce organizational security risk.

Leads enterprise application security across web, mobile, API, SaaS, and cloud environments. Performs secure code reviews, threat modeling, architecture assessments, vulnerability validation, and risk-based remediation. Operates security testing and DevSecOps tooling, designs cloud security controls, strengthens CI/CD pipelines, supports incidents, audits, and compliance, and develops security standards and documentation. Partners with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and business teams while mentoring technical staff on secure development and application security practices.

Plans and executes financial, operational, SOX, and IT general controls audits. Performs risk analysis, data analysis, property site reviews, special examinations, and audit reporting. Supports acquisition due diligence, evaluates internal controls, identifies process improvements, and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders. Leads audit assignments and presents findings clearly while safeguarding company assets and financial records.

Supports the legal department with litigation intake, docket management, service of process, discovery, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, investigations, and small claims matters. Coordinates electronically stored information collection and serves as a liaison among outside counsel, internal legal staff, IT, and business units. Maintains legal matter management systems, tracks budgets and outcomes, provides compliance guidance, monitors legislative developments, responds to field inquiries, and assists with legal operations improvements and reporting.

Support indirect tax compliance and analysis for property and unclaimed property tax: prepare data and returns, support audits, research state/local tax rules, reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and collaborate cross-functionally.

Support FP&A for Tenant Insurance and Lending businesses: build financial models, analyze performance and KPIs, prepare management reporting, support budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, business cases, and cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve profitability and operations.

Provide legal counsel on federal, state, and local legislative and regulatory matters affecting Public Storage; develop advocacy and compliance strategies; coordinate with lobbyists, trade associations, and internal stakeholders; translate regulatory changes into business guidance; support acquisitions and multi-jurisdictional compliance planning; build scalable tracking and response processes.
