Coordinates core People Operations activities, including employee onboarding and offboarding, HRIS record maintenance, benefits and payroll support, immigration casework, employee inquiries, and people-program logistics. Own support and operations for Arc’s laboratory information management system. Responsibilities include managing requests, making schema changes, maintaining data validation checks, supporting experiment templates and command-line tools, training scientists, documenting workflows, and automating recurring tasks. The role also includes improving permissions, building tools to make laboratory metadata queryable, debugging systems, and eventually owning part of the lab platform from design through support.

Own and develop Arc Institute’s machine learning infrastructure for virtual cell models, including model evaluation dashboards, single-cell data pipelines, training-set quality controls, and lab-in-the-loop systems. Build scalable train-and-evaluate CI, support distributed multi-node training, improve GPU utilization and throughput, and create validation frameworks for AI-generated software. Partner directly with ML researchers and scientists while setting technical direction for production platforms.

Own full-cycle recruiting across Arc Institute’s scientific Technology Centers, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer closing. Build talent pipelines for life sciences, biotech, computational biology, and leadership roles; advise hiring managers, influence evaluation decisions, improve scalable recruiting processes, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience. The role requires strong scientific recruiting expertise, stakeholder management, sourcing, closing, analytics, and ATS proficiency.

Serve as Arc Institute’s strategic legal advisor, leading legal strategy for collaborations, partnerships, governance, compliance, regulatory, risk, and institutional arrangements. Oversee agreements, negotiations, business development support, legal processes, outside counsel, and a small legal team including IP and licensing. Provide practical counsel to senior scientific and operational leaders while enabling responsible institutional growth.

Lead People Operations and compensation programs, drive AI-native and automated HR workflows, oversee onboarding/offboarding and benefits, manage PEO relationship, deliver compensation benchmarking and cyclical pay events, partner with hiring managers and recruiting, and establish operational excellence and service culture.
