As a Software Engineer at CERN, you will develop Python applications for RF systems, collaborate on C++ control software, and ensure software reliability through automation and operational support processes.

Conduct research on ML and AI approaches for track reconstruction in high-pileup environments; investigate, benchmark, and integrate ML-based tracking algorithms into the EF/ACTS workflow; evaluate physics and computational performance; supervise team members and guide deployment toward CPU/GPU heterogeneous EF architectures.

The Python Software Engineer will develop APIs and desktop applications for CERN's control systems, focusing on robustness and user experience. Responsibilities include collaborating with teams, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to open-source projects.

Assemble and test CASSIA silicon sensor prototypes, perform laboratory/beam measurements and irradiations, characterise and simulate on-chip amplifiers and FE circuits, improve designs for time resolution and radiation hardness, develop integration concepts for readout matrices, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Develop, migrate, and maintain modern C++ control software on Linux for power converter systems. Own and modernize components from FGCDv1/FESA to FGCDv2, improve the framework, ensure code quality and CI/CD, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and supervise team members. Support architecture, testing, and operational readiness.

Develop, maintain and support CERN cryogenics process control systems. Design, implement, test and commission control software and hardware; participate in installation, configuration data management, system integration, and collaborate with operations and service providers to resolve issues and improve control logic and CI/CD processes.

Contribute to developing the next-generation CERN Document Server using Python backends and React frontends. Implement features, migrate content, write and test code, collaborate with users and engineers, document solutions, and learn best practices in version control, containers, and agile teamwork.
