Support engineering, design, prototyping, and testing of electro-mechanical and electrical systems for autonomous surface vehicles. Assist senior engineers with integration, lab and field testing, data collection, troubleshooting, and documentation to improve ASV components and subsystems.

Design, implement, and optimize software systems for autonomous surface vessels (using NixOS). Lead R&D, design, integration, and testing of maritime acoustic sensing systems (sonar, hydrophones, acoustic modems). Conduct benchmarking, sea trials, trade studies, analog front-end and DAQ design, signal conditioning, and documentation. Collaborate across autonomy, software, and mechanical teams; mentor junior engineers and support safety, reliability, and environmental qualification.

Lead design, specification, and validation of ruggedized electrical and electronic systems for autonomous maritime platforms. Develop requirements, schematics, power and network architectures, select components, run trade studies, support prototyping and at-sea testing, author documentation, and mentor junior engineers.

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for autonomous surface vessels. Implement lean principles, collaborate with engineering and suppliers, establish quality controls, perform root-cause analysis, document compliant processes, train production staff, and drive continuous improvement for DoD production.

Operate as the administrative and operational lead for a small R&D Special Programs team: manage schedules, budgets, procurement, and resources; plan prototype builds, field tests, and demonstrations; give high-level technical input; prioritize projects with VP Product and CTO; and represent the team to internal functions, suppliers, and government or commercial customers.

Lead mechanical integration and packaging of electronics, sensors, and payloads for autonomous surface vessels. Create CAD models and drawings, define mounting and cable routing strategies, ensure manufacturability and serviceability, support prototypes and testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design-for-manufacturing decisions.
