Leads end-to-end payroll operations for a large, unionized workforce, ensuring accurate and timely pay, statutory compliance, pension administration, reconciliations, reporting, and audit support. Manages and develops the payroll team, oversees budgets and internal controls, partners across HR, Finance, Labour Relations, Scheduling, and IT, and serves as the payroll subject matter expert. The role also drives process improvements, payroll system enhancements, analytics, governance, and legislative change implementation.

Supports legal operations, information governance, privacy and FOIPPA administration, records management, corporate policy governance, and process modernization. Responsibilities include organizing legal and privacy files, managing knowledge repositories, reviewing retention and digitization needs, maintaining policy inventories, improving document accessibility, and preparing structured information for future technology and AI-enabled solutions. The intern works with legal, regulatory, privacy, and corporate affairs professionals while handling confidential information and coordinating multiple priorities.

Supports government and interest holder engagement strategies for BC Ferries. Monitors legislative, political, and funding developments; prepares briefing notes, correspondence, reports, and executive summaries; coordinates roundtables and working sessions; supports multi-party discussions; collaborates across teams to align messaging; and improves engagement tools, processes, and practices.
