The NPI Product Engineer will support new product development, focusing on testability, product characterization, yield optimization, and manufacturing readiness, and work closely with cross-functional teams to launch advanced semiconductor products.

Lead applications engineering for CopperEdge on-board copper products and in-house test infrastructure. Design and develop embedded firmware, define test strategies, perform signal integrity characterization (PAM4, S-parameters, VNA), support customers pre- and post-sales, attend industry events, mentor engineers, and drive NPI deliverables while creating technical collateral and improving test automation.

Design, simulate, and evaluate high-speed (200+ Gbps) analog/mixed-signal ICs using CMOS/BiCMOS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, document results, perform lab evaluations with high-speed equipment, and support designs through manufacturing while learning from senior engineers.

Lead and manage analog IC design efforts, collaborating with engineers in Bristol and international partner sites to shape products and teams, drive technical direction, and ensure project delivery and cross-site coordination.

Design, implement, and operate Semtech's global network across 30+ sites. Support LAN/WAN, firewalls, SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), VPNs, automation, and lifecycle maintenance. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to ensure network resilience, performance, and security while leading strategic initiatives like zero-trust and VPN modernization.

Lead planning and execution of bench PVT characterisation for high-speed optical and electrical semiconductor products. Develop automated Python-based test environments, execute test plans, analyse large datasets, generate technical reports, and collaborate with global cross-functional teams. Mentor junior engineers and drive automation and process improvements to ensure product quality and successful NPI releases.

Define technical requirements and performance targets for next-generation high-speed optical ICs. Engage customers and component partners, drive optical link analysis and simulations, collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams, lead standards/MSA participation, and represent Semtech at conferences to align ecosystem roadmaps and ensure interoperability.

Lead production planning and master scheduling for complex semiconductor manufacturing. Develop planning strategies, capacity plans, S&OP, scheduling optimization, WIP and cycle-time improvements, performance analytics, and planning system enhancements. Coordinate cross-functional teams, prioritize demand, and ensure schedule feasibility to balance on-time delivery, inventory, and capacity utilization.

Lead design and development of production and characterization test solutions for System Protection NPI products. Responsibilities include hardware and software test design, ATE-to-bench correlation, robustness and reliability testing, test documentation, test transfer to production, schedule and multi-project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to meet product launch targets.

Lead end-to-end chip design strategy and execution across SoC, analog, digital, verification, DFT, packaging, and test. Manage 12–20+ engineers and vertical leads, drive EDA tool adoption, oversee multiple tapeout projects, coordinate cross-vertical reviews, engage foundries and IP vendors, and report technical risks and progress to senior leadership.
