Industrial Design Intern supporting conceptual and production design for marine propulsion systems, controls, graphics, and related components. Responsibilities include creating 2D and 3D concepts, sketches, renderings, physical and digital models, rapid visualizations, and color, materials, and finishes proposals. The intern collaborates with industrial designers and engineers, participates in design critiques, and supports multiple product-development projects.

Own and improve high-volume manufacturing processes for transducer assemblies, including urethane moulding, encapsulation, tooling, fixturing, process validation, and change control. Establish controls for material handling, mixing, pouring, curing, and environmental conditions. Track yield, defects, capability, rework, and scrap while leading root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Collaborate with product development, quality, process engineering, and operations to improve manufacturability, reliability, automation, and production scalability.

Supports mechanical design of engine systems and components, validation testing, dimensional stack-ups, data analysis, failure investigations, and technical documentation. Collaborates with product design, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, and internal teams while managing assigned engineering projects. Uses CAD/Creo and standard engineering techniques in a hands-on marine propulsion manufacturing environment.

Supports central accounting through fixed asset activities, intercompany reconciliations, month-end and quarterly close, account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, reporting, audits, and process improvement projects. Maintains compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP while collaborating with accounting and finance teams. This onsite internship requires full-time availability from May through August 2027.

Supports Mercury US Engines and MerCruiser finance operations through month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and business-unit reporting. Provides financial support to R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Category teams; leads financial analysis for new product teams, develops business cases and sensitivity analyses, ensures financial statement conformance, and handles ad hoc analysis and special projects.

Supports credit and collections activities, including customer payment follow-up, collection software worklists, account documentation, creditworthiness analysis, dashboard monitoring, and management reporting. The intern will use Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools to analyze data, identify trends, support credit risk assessment, and contribute to process improvement, automation, and digital transformation projects.

Supports enterprise-wide Oracle EPM financial systems, including administration, configuration, security, data uploads, metadata, interfaces, reporting, dashboards, integrations, and user support. Assists with financial close, budgeting, forecasting, testing, process improvements, Oracle Cloud updates, documentation, requirements gathering, and user training while partnering with Finance, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders.

Lead advanced marine product engineering and development for fiberglass, mechanical, electrical, laminate, and structural systems. Create 3D surface models, develop complex mechanisms, review drawings, validate designs, analyze costs, specify components, and support manufacturing integration. Collaborate with industrial design, program management, suppliers, and customer service to ensure products meet cost, performance, quality, regulatory, and functional requirements. Use warranty data and field evaluations to identify and mitigate mechanical-system issues.

Creates and revises 2D and 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, tooling, and fixtures using Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Supports boat programs, product enhancements, welding and fabrication teams, and manufacturing process improvements. Collaborates with engineering teams, vendors, and suppliers; handles documentation releases, quotations, ordering, engineering changes, and tooling problem-solving. Performs on-site measurements and works safely on the production floor while following safety, ergonomic, and documentation standards.

Supports product management for oils and lubricants through competitive market research, market assessments, SKU rationalization, sales reporting, product assortment analysis, pricing updates, and product content development. Collaborates with dealers, customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams; analyzes industry and competitor data; identifies growth opportunities; and presents recommendations for product line improvements.
