Own product vision and strategy for an insurance-focused product area, determine what gets built, and lead product engineers. Responsibilities include shaping six-week cycles, simplifying insurer onboarding and benefits workflows, translating compliance and underwriting rules into user flows, collaborating across business functions, and adapting product areas as the company expands into new markets.

Reports to the COO and leads strategic, cross-functional initiatives focused on customer experience, business growth, efficiency, competitive intelligence, data foundations, and functional performance. The role requires a generalist who can solve ambiguous problems, manage strategic projects, analyze issues, prepare stakeholder updates, and support business priorities across the company.

Build and maintain Kota’s employer and employee-facing UIs using modern frontend frameworks. Shape frontend architecture, create reusable components, ensure performance, accessibility, and observability, participate in planning and reviews, and own features through production.

Work directly with customers to integrate Kota's SDKs and APIs, write production-quality code, build internal tools, debug cross-system issues, and influence product roadmap. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions and successful deployments.

Lead product design for Kota Embed, owning design quality in a fast-moving environment. Design complex, data-constrained interfaces, build reusable design-system patterns, run rapid research and prototyping, collaborate across stakeholders and engineering, and produce working prototypes as spec to close the gap between design and implementation.

As a Senior Product Designer at Kota, you will own key product areas, create intuitive flows, and collaborate closely with engineering to enhance user experiences across our products.

Sell Kota's integrated benefits platform in the UK & Ireland by prospecting, qualifying, and closing SMB and mid-market deals. Source and generate leads, run discovery sessions, negotiate contracts, maintain CRM pipeline, hit monthly/quarterly targets, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine sales strategies.

Build and own backend systems for pensions, retirement savings, and the Spend product (card issuing, wallet provisioning). Design integrations with pension providers, payment/card infrastructure (Stripe) and payroll. Implement event-driven, auditable data models, contribute to React/TypeScript frontend as needed, join client calls, shape the roadmap, and ensure reliability, security, and observability while using AI.

As a Senior Product Engineer (Backend), you'll design and develop APIs and SDKs for embedded insurance and retirement benefits, focusing on system architecture, incident response, and enhancing developer experiences.
