Lead design and integration of complex multidisciplinary systems (software, hardware, RF, networks) for defence and edge environments. Define architectures, interfaces and integration plans, de-risk delivery using modelling and testing, mentor engineers, and work with users and partners to ensure operational effectiveness across the systems engineering lifecycle.

Lead end-to-end bidding activities from opportunity qualification to contract signature, develop bid strategies and win themes, manage timelines and stakeholders, maintain reusable bid content, facilitate go/no-go decisions, analyse win/loss data for continuous improvement, and ensure high-quality submissions to UK government frameworks while championing process and knowledge management.

Lead hardware-enabled product development from concept to production: own roadmap, prioritise features, manage schedules/cost/quality, navigate supply chain and manufacturing, build and mentor a small cross-functional team, and engage customers in a defence/mission-critical context.

Lead and establish a hardware quality assurance function covering RF, electronics, networking and mechanical products. Define test methodologies, build and equip a test laboratory, develop test automation and processes, lead and grow a hardware QA team, and ensure products meet reliability and performance standards prior to shipment. Work closely with product, engineering and manufacturing teams to set quality gates across development stages.

Lead Rowden’s US commercial expansion: convert products into funded contracts and partnerships, own end-to-end opportunity lifecycle (SBIR/OTA/PPBE), manage capture and negotiations, build relationships with primes/OEMs and government stakeholders, feed market insight into product roadmap, and support US hiring, facilities, and compliance.

Own the Dovetail product roadmap for Edge Manager and Edge Node, translate integration and security requirements into precise epics/stories, make architectural trade-offs with engineering, mentor other Product Owners, manage stakeholder priorities, run Agile ceremonies, and act as primary contact for system integrators and hardware partners.
