Develop, verify and debug FPGA RTL and embedded code for Xilinx Zynq/Ultrascale devices to support real-time quantum networking control systems. Work with ARTIQ/Sinara platforms, collaborate across hardware, software and physics teams, create verification/testbenches, debug subsystems, contribute to CI/CD automation and documentation.

Develop software and firmware to control proprietary optics, electronics and lab equipment; integrate with FPGA and electronics teams; build user interfaces and automation for experiments and product demonstrators; ensure high-quality, testable code and improve workflows within an agile cross-functional team.

Design, build and optimise low-noise optical systems and tabletop experiments to lock microcavities to stable lasers. Implement automation, align free-space and fibre optics, acquire and analyse experimental data, document procedures, and collaborate with nanofabrication, electronics, mechanical and software teams.

Lead and grow the Testbed Optics group to design, build, automate, and characterise advanced optical systems for quantum photon interfaces and networking. Provide technical leadership, mentor staff, establish best practices, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive optics roadmap and system-level optimisation.

Characterise integrated photonic devices across classical and quantum regimes, develop and automate optical/electrical test setups, analyse data to extract performance metrics, support MPW test protocols, document procedures, maintain lab infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve device performance and manufacturability.

Define and own neutral-atom network system architecture and specifications, lead hardware architecture and qubit control strategy, model high-fidelity networking and remote entanglement, align cross-functional teams for product and engineering delivery, and guide projects toward distributed fault-tolerant quantum computing testbeds.
