The Staff Automation Engineer will design and implement automated manufacturing systems for space products, collaborate with design engineers, manage testing, and support digital manufacturing initiatives.

Build and maintain Python backend services, REST APIs, WebSocket endpoints, cloud data-ingestion systems, and IoT device-management capabilities. Design PostgreSQL schemas and data strategies, improve telemetry reliability, develop automated tests, troubleshoot production systems, and support CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure. Collaborate with embedded, hardware, frontend, and product teams to deliver end-to-end features for provisioning, fleet management, firmware updates, and real-time device communications.

Develop and debug production embedded C firmware on Zephyr RTOS for sensor-rich, wireless IoT hardware. Integrate sensors over I2C, SPI, and I2S; build and test boards; support Wi-Fi, MQTT/TLS, Thread, and BLE connectivity; create tooling and hardware-in-the-loop tests; investigate hardware bugs; and contribute to edge machine-learning deployment. The intern will own features end-to-end and collaborate with hardware, systems, and firmware engineers on-site.

Lead month-end close, global budgeting and variance analysis, auditing, tax compliance, international consolidation, ERP integration, and build scalable accounting processes. Manage staff and external service providers while advising executive leadership on financial decisions.

Lead end-to-end 5G Core system architecture for a LEO satellite operator: define interfaces and ADRs, decompose requirements across AMF/SMF/UPF/UDM/PCF/AUSF/CHF/NEF, drive trade studies, tune core parameters for satellite constraints, specify back-end integrations (charging, SIM provisioning, OSS/BSS), and set system acceptance criteria aligned with 3GPP Rel-17/18.

Design and implement scalable test automation for 5G Core network functions across virtual and physical targets. Develop Python test scripts, packet-capture and protocol analysis tooling, extend automation to hardware-in-the-loop RF environments, integrate tests into CI/CD, and track/verify defects in Jira while collaborating with software, platform, and RF engineers.

Design, select, and qualify spacecraft wiring and fiber-optic harnesses, connectors, and antenna sensors for flight. Define requirements, create harness drawings and wire lists, integrate routing and strain-relief solutions, evaluate suppliers, and support assembly, integration, testing, and anomaly resolution through product lifecycle.

Lead RMF-based A&A for Top Secret/SCI information systems, manage continuous monitoring, incident response, policy and compliance with NISPOM/DAAPM/DOD/IC requirements, liaise with DCSA/CSA, mentor ISSOs, and integrate physical and technical security controls across classified networks.

Lead systems engineering for LEO satellite-based radar systems: coordinate architecture, requirements, MBSE, RF, software, cyber, test, and site integration; manage interface inventories, mission threads, verification, and legacy-site risk closure; engage government stakeholders and lead multi-discipline technical working groups to ensure mission integration and readiness before SRR.

Lead an independent Mission Assurance & Quality organization with authority to halt production and withhold qualification. Own FMEA/FMECA, system safety per MIL-STD-882, reliability modeling, parts/radiation control, configuration management, NCR disposition, and failure investigations. Chair FRB and production CCB, enforce workmanship standards, and provide as-built conformance to the CTO for spacecraft launched to LEO.
