The Staff Accountant maintains vendor records, processes deposits, reviews and reconciles general fund and general ledger accounts, prepares journal entries, and supports accurate financial reporting. The role requires accounting, banking, or finance experience; knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and internal controls; proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP, and procure-to-pay systems; and strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred experience includes advanced vendor management, complex reconciliations, additional accounting platforms, Excel analysis, and workflow improvements.

Validates business solution intake requests, confirms requirements, identifies triggering events, evaluates processes, uncovers gaps, determines controls, documents risks, and supports evidence-based business cases. Translates ambiguous partner requests into precise operational language while guiding stakeholders toward clarity. Navigates intake tools, workflow platforms, case management systems, and reporting dashboards to provide operational insight.

Serves as a strategic liaison between business divisions and technical teams, translating business needs into data and analytics solutions. Conducts data analysis, gathers requirements, supports reporting and integration initiatives, evaluates solution risks, and prioritizes data projects. The role guides solution design, data architecture, data quality, master data, cataloging, and advanced analytics efforts while presenting insights to business and technical stakeholders.
