HOW YOU WILL DO IT
Purpose Statement: The Manager of Payroll will lead and inspire a high-performing team of professionals in the efficient and accurate execution of payroll processed. With a commitment to precision, compliance, and employee satisfaction, this role will aim to ensure timely and error-free payroll cycles while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Facilitate collaborative partnerships with external consultants to stay abreast of cutting-edge payroll offerings, technologies, and best practices. Actively engage in the assessment, selection, and implementation of new payroll solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and a seamless integration into existing processes.
- Take a lead role in ensuring strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies governing payroll operations. Conduct regular audits and reviews to guarantee compliance with statutory requirements, mitigating risks, and proactively addressing any potential issues. Stay informed about legislative changes and industry trends to continually enhance compliance protocols.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of payroll professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Offer hands-on assistance to employees navigating payroll processes, cultivating a positive and supportive environment that encourages open communication and problem-solving. Drive employee training initiatives to enhance overall understanding and proficiency in payroll-related matters.
- Assume responsibility for the end-to-end oversight of all payroll administration processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality. Spearhead the development and execution of streamlined procedures for payroll processing, reporting, and record-keeping. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate payroll data seamlessly into Plexus' financial plan, maintaining data integrity and contributing to strategic financial decision-making.
- Oversee all communication related to payroll processes, both internally and externally. Develop and implement clear and consistent communication strategies to keep employees informed about payroll-related matters. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between payroll activities and Plexus' financial plan, fostering transparency and understanding across the organization.
- Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is required in the U.S. and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) would be beneficial.
- Five (5) year of experience in payroll management roles is preferred. Three (3) years of related experience is required.
Other Qualifications:
- Strong leadership skills with a successful history of managing and developing high-performing teams and the ability to provide clear guidance, foster a collaborative work environment, and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address payroll discrepancies, system inefficiencies, and compliance issues.
Physical Requirements:
- Professional office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and low noise level. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, using a computer, and other office equipment. Minimal physical activity is generally involved, emphasizing the importance of good posture and ergonomic workplace arrangements.
