Provide legal advice and transaction support for Northwestern Mutual's 720 East CLO platform and general account investments. Review offering memorandums, indentures, engagement and warehouse agreements, collateral management and control agreements; handle amendments, restructurings, bankruptcies, realizations, regulatory matters, and liability management. Collaborate across teams, offer practical legal solutions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced in-house environment.

Provide legal counsel on design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit programs (retirement, health, welfare), ensuring ERISA and tax compliance; draft and review plan documents and filings; identify and mitigate legal risks; support employment law matters (wage/hour, leave, investigations, terminations, restrictive covenants); collaborate with HR and other legal specialists; monitor regulatory developments.

Provide in-house legal counsel for Northwestern Mutual's $60+ billion real estate portfolio, leading structuring, negotiation and documentation of commercial mortgage loans, acquisitions, joint ventures and development transactions. Support asset management and loan servicing activities including amendments, consents, leasing, and management agreements, working closely with investment professionals.

Provide legal and regulatory advice on insurance and risk products across the product lifecycle, from innovation and design to claims. Research and analyze legal issues, mitigate regulatory risk, advise business partners, manage multi-jurisdictional matters, collaborate with Law Department attorneys, and support compliance, policy, and project delivery.

Lead records and information management, transparency/consent, and privacy incident response programs. Advise the CPO and stakeholders on privacy strategy, embed privacy controls into products and processes, manage a team, develop policies and roadmaps, partner with legal and IT, and monitor compliance with privacy laws while enabling responsible data use to drive business outcomes.

Provide paralegal support for estate, business, and charitable planning: review and summarize documents, create flowcharts and PowerPoints, maintain electronic case files, coordinate with attorneys/CPAs/advisors, schedule meetings, perform light legal research, and manage timelines and client communications.
