Advance Wise’s government relations and public policy objectives across Southeast Asia, especially Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Develop and implement policy strategies, advocate with governments, regulators, and trade associations, support leadership meetings, contribute to ESG compliance, and collaborate with product, banking, compliance, legal, and public relations teams. Frequent travel across regional markets is required.

Provide UK/EMEA privacy legal advice, counsel on DPIAs and AI initiatives, draft and negotiate privacy contracts, advise on cross-border data sharing, support audits, and implement data and AI governance and privacy-by-design across product and platform teams.

Investigate and manage APAC arbitration cases, compile evidence, assess legally binding decisions, and represent Wise before external arbitration bodies. Monitor regional regulations, identify complaint root causes, and collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and Product teams to improve policies and workflows. Maintain financial crime knowledge, meet regulatory deadlines and SLAs, protect Wise’s reputation, and advocate for fair customer outcomes while handling sensitive information securely.

Lead compliance strategy for Wise's Middle East and Africa region, acting as regional Compliance Director. Oversee licensing and market expansion, establish second-line operational teams, localize compliance frameworks, manage regulator relationships, and report financial crime and regulatory risks to the Board. The role also supports regional Compliance Officers, translates regulatory developments into strategic action, and ensures compliant product growth across markets including Israel, UAE, South Africa, Nigeria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

Provide strategic legal advice on employment law issues, draft employment contracts and policies, support employee relations, and oversee disputes and tribunal cases.

Investigate and manage arbitration and high-tier complaints for Japan and APAC. Represent Wise before arbitration bodies and regulators, prepare evidence and bilingual submissions, assess legally binding decisions, monitor regulatory changes, meet strict deadlines, and conduct root-cause analysis. Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and Product teams to improve policies and workflows, mitigate reputational risk, and ensure fair, compliant customer outcomes.

Provide broad in-house legal support for North America: advise on payments, banking, consumer regulation, contracts, product launches, partnerships, licensing, and corporate matters; draft and negotiate agreements; manage legal risk and templates; collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor colleagues.

Lead product compliance for Brazil by advising product, engineering, and analytics teams on Bacen regulations (FX, payment institutions, Pix, Open Finance). Design controls, run regulatory risk assessments, oversee audits and remediation, monitor regulatory changes, and represent Wise with local regulators and partners.

Lead regulatory product compliance and risk for Latin America: advise product teams on design and controls, perform pre-launch and ongoing regulatory analysis and risk assessments, manage control environment, audit and remediation, and represent Wise with banking partners and regulators.

Investigate and manage arbitration cases, represent Wise with arbitration bodies, assess evidence and legally binding decisions, ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, perform root-cause analysis, share feedback with cross-functional teams, defend Wise against adverse outcomes, meet SLAs, and contribute to policy and process improvements with strong fincrime and BI tool knowledge.
