Lead the Education and Law Project providing strategic legal leadership, managing attorneys and staff, directing litigation and policy advocacy, building partnerships, overseeing budgets and grants, pursuing funding, representing the organization publicly, and contributing to organizational strategy to advance educational equity in North Carolina.

Serve as the functional bridge between US Finance/Accounting and Data Engineering. Translate GL feeds, sub-ledger reconciliation, and accounting logic into data models, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Own and prioritize the finance data backlog, guide sprint refinement, and lead UAT with accounting stakeholders to meet audit and reporting standards.

Support fiscal operations by performing complex accounts payable and accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, processing AP transactions, assisting with audits and vendor setups, backing up the Purchase of Services Supervisor, and improving procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Support month-end close by preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies, and producing accounting reports. Coordinate with internal departments and external accountants, assist with audits, and perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects.

Manage the full procure-to-pay lifecycle: process high-volume vendor invoices, route approvals, execute payments, reconcile statements, support month-end close and 1099 reporting. Maintain vendor records, resolve discrepancies, administer Concur expense workflows and corporate cards, and help drive AP process improvements.

Manage and strategize divisional operating and capital budgets, prepare projections and annual budget loads, monitor spending, reconcile monthly and annual accounts, audit payroll entries, process invoices, contracts, royalties, and provide first-level procurement/accounting support. Produce financial reports, meet with department managers, and coordinate with Budget and Controllers offices and divisional leadership.

Engineer, deploy, and maintain Linux-based infrastructure supporting HPC, research computing, and on-prem cloud. Manage servers, containers, security patching, automation, and troubleshooting; collaborate with researchers to translate needs into scalable, secure solutions and evaluate new technologies to improve performance and reliability.

Lead end-to-end marketing for an early-stage B2B SaaS startup: define brand and positioning; build content and demand-generation engines; run campaigns tied to pipeline; enable sales; measure marketing-to-revenue performance; and secure industry presence via events, webinars, and thought leadership. Hands-on execution and people management required.

Serve as the link between payroll and accounting: post payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll-related GL accounts, support month-end/year-end close, assist payroll tax filings and audits, maintain payroll controls and state registrations, resolve discrepancies with Payroll/HR, and provide ad hoc labor cost reporting and process improvements.

Perform and resolve complex general ledger and bank-controlled deposit account reconciliations using automated and Oracle reconciliation systems. Research and correct out-of-balance conditions, balance subsidiary ledgers to control accounts, support auditors, maintain procedures, and mentor junior team members.
