Underwrites mortgage and HELOC applications by evaluating borrower creditworthiness, verifying income and employment, analyzing tax returns, reviewing appraisals and collateral values, resolving vendor issues, and approving or denying loans under investor and home-loan guidelines. The role also documents decisions, completes adverse action notices, addresses audit issues, meets service-level agreements, and collaborates with clients, sales, mortgage advisors, and operations teams.
