Own IT internal audit projects and portions of the SOX program, including ITGC and ITAC testing, risk assessment, controls evaluation, remediation, and audit reporting. Partner with audit, finance, engineering, process owners, external auditors, and co-sourcing partners. Help establish an AI audit methodology and implement AI-enabled audit efficiencies while maintaining quality, independence, and reliability.

Lead Block’s Compliance Issues Management Oversight program across Square, Cash App, and Afterpay. Own remediation tracking, change governance, scope determinations, quality assurance, escalation, reporting, and closure validation for compliance issues involving AML/BSA, sanctions, and consumer protection. Build governance standards, procedures, templates, and playbooks; facilitate cross-functional forums; advise stakeholders; and scale the program through AI, automation, and workflow tooling.

Partner with Channel Sales leadership to lead financial planning, performance reviews, unit-economics modeling, scenario analysis, quota-setting, and strategic recommendations. Build reporting frameworks, mentor finance teammates, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive investment and go-to-market decisions.

Manage enterprise KYC policy and strategy across Block’s business lines. Develop and maintain policies, assess regulatory changes, guide implementation, define AI/ML risk and identity-verification controls, monitor program metrics, advise stakeholders, support audits and examinations, and remediate compliance risks including model bias, drift, false positives, and explainability gaps.

Leads strategic finance for major commercial partnerships, including financial modeling, deal advisory, pricing negotiations, cost forecasting, competitive analysis, and executive recommendations. Partners cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Data Science, Legal, and Accounting while building dashboards, SQL queries, and automated reporting to support decision-making.

Oversee federal and state tax updates for Cash App’s tax software, from researching tax law changes through product launch. Translate updates into requirements for user interfaces, calculations, help content, PDFs, e-filing/XML, and testing. Review targeted code changes, collaborate with engineering and quality teams on testing and certification, and triage filing defects and rejections with tax agencies and internal partners.

Lead Block’s global tax planning and controversy agenda, including international and U.S. tax strategy, transfer pricing, M&A taxation, legal-entity structuring, tax audits, examinations, disputes, and transaction negotiations. Advise senior leadership on tax implications, partner with Legal, Treasury, Corporate Development, and finance teams, monitor legislative developments, and ensure tax positions are reflected in reporting and compliance. Build high-performing teams and represent Block before domestic and foreign tax authorities.
