We’re on a mission to eliminate waste for good, starting with the food that ends up in landfills. Did you know that more than half of the food in landfills comes from home kitchens (ReFED)? And food in landfills turns into methane – which is 80x more potent than CO2 over a 20-year period (IPCC). At Mill, we’re working to turn kitchen scraps into food for chickens. This keeps food in our food system and out of landfills.

Headway is building a new mental healthcare system, rewired for access and affordability. We all know someone that has struggled with mental health - 1 in 4 people have a treatable mental health condition - but the overwhelming majority don’t get the care they need. The primary reason is cost - seventy percent of therapists don’t accept insurance, meaning paying for therapy is usually very, very expensive. Headway is building the first national, virtual network of therapists who accept insurance, helping providers to expand their practices, and individuals to finally find a therapist they can afford. And we’re doing it all through software. We launched in April of 2019 and are already powering thousands of therapy appointments every single day. To scale our mission, we’ve raised funding from the world’s preeminent VCs (backers of Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, Uber, Oscar) as well as the nation’s most innovative healthcare entrepreneurs (founders of One Medical, Flatiron Health, and Clover Health). We believe a team's strength is in its people. Headway is solving a national problem of affordability, and we know this cannot be achieved without a team that reflects the diversity of this problem - across race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and experience. Join us, and make an impact.

We want to radically improve how we humans communicate with each other. Our first step at Ava is to empower 466M deaf and hard-of-hearing people to live in a fully accessible world. Every day, millions of people are excluded from conversations because they cannot hear what others say well. Our CEO Thibault grew up in a Deaf family & witnessed firsthand how the world was not accessible for them. Together with our CTO Skinner — deaf since age 2 — Thibault co-founded Ava to make live captioning of conversations as easy as turning on captions on TV. Our small but fast-growing team has reinvented AI-based speech recognition technology to be in service of people who need it the most. We dream of a 24/7 accessible world, without any communication barrier. In this pursuit, we're seeing how critical communication skills are, yet very far from ideal, to unleash our collective potential. This is for us the ultimate barrier we need to lift. Our belief is that well-designed technology can help everyone communicate and connect better — much more effectively & authentically — so humanity can achieve the greatest things together.

We’re in the business of financial equality. Owning a home is a path towards wealth creation and financial stability, but too often people get left behind. Our team aims to break through traditional barriers to fight for the underdog, and give everyone a shot at owning their own home. We believe the mortgage industry hasn’t kept up with changing times. Mortgage requirements have gotten more restrictive while our financial lives are more complex than ever. Today, millions of Americans are excluded from homeownership, not because they can’t afford it but because they simply can’t get approved for a mortgage. That’s what we set out to change. Divvy represents an entirely new way to think about homeownership in America. At Divvy, we've built an on-ramp to homeownership. With our innovative, rent to own model, we help future homeowners get into the house they love with a transparent process by which they can buy the home from Divvy. We are driven by the goal of expanding access to homeownership in America and letting more individuals & families share in the financial benefits of homeownership.

Avive dares to imagine a world where a culture of response becomes the norm, and no witnessed Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) goes untreated. We are a Bay Area MedTech company developing lifesaving solutions designed to empower everyday people to do extraordinary things. Our new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and response system are designed to offer advanced and user-friendly features in a compact, intuitive, more affordable, and connected device. Avive seeks to save lives by making owning, using and managing AEDs simple. Despite tackling a massive and complex public health issue, which has had the same dismal survival rate of 10% for decades, Avive does so with optimism and fervor. Fueled by the words and experiences of those whose lives have been impacted or lost to SCA, the Avive team has simply refused to accept the status quo, working relentlessly to move the needle on survival rates. Rory Beyer, Moseley Andrews, and Sameer Jafri came together with a seemingly simple idea – that anyone can and should be able to positively impact the outcome of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) rescue. Drawn together by their complementary skills and background, they met at a conference focused on SCA prevention and quickly came to share a vision for the profound impact that a more effective solution could have on thousands of families every year. With Rory and Moseley’s technical expertise and a novel AED concept they had developed at MIT, combined with Sameer’s experience in SCA prevention through his non-profit organization – Saving Hearts Foundation, the three co-founded Avive in 2017. Our story is just beginning, and we hope you’ll come write it with us. https://youtu.be/XUiwcB_9bzw We are actively hiring, see how you can contribute at https://avive.life/careers/
