India has emerged as one of the world’s most important tech hubs, hosting a diverse array of companies that are making their mark in sectors like e-commerce, artificial intelligence, finance and beyond. Ranging from multinational behemoths to homegrown standouts, here are some of top tech companies with offices here in India.

Software giant Microsoft is renowned for its diverse array of products, from the Windows operating system to PowerPoint, Excel and the rest of the Microsoft 365 suite. It has also carved out a significant presence in the enterprise AI space, providing tools to help businesses build, deploy and manage AI applications. Outside of its headquarters in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft employs more than 20,000 people across 10 corporate offices in India, which are located in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai and Gurgaon. Hyderabad is also the company’s largest data center region in the country.

 

Swiggy is one of India’s top food delivery companies, partnering with more than 150,000 restaurants across some 500 cities nationwide. The startup is headquartered in Bangalore, and has a total of 5,000 employees. As of 2022, Swiggy was valued at more than $10 billion, and is said to be eyeing an IPO for 2024.

 

Software company Atlassian offers an array of tools organizations use to deliver quality digital products, collaborate on product roadmaps, provide real-time incident communications and handle other important business activities. Atlassian maintains a physical office location in Bengaluru’s Embassy GolfLinks Business Park, but also offers remote employment opportunities across India.

 

With a market capitalization of more than $84 billion, Infosys is one of the largest IT services and consulting companies in India. It offers DevOps, cloud migration and data analytics and other services to thousands of businesses around the world, including those working in the life sciences, agriculture and automotive industries. The company’s headquarters is an 81-acre campus in Bangalore, which has a research facility for AI, robotics and other cutting-edge tech. It also has several offices in Mumbai, Chennai and Pune.

 

Tata Consultancy Services is headquartered in Mumbai, and it has multiple offices in Chennai and Bangalore. Boasting a market capitalization of more than $180 billion, it is the second most valuable company in India and one of the top tech firms in the world. It operates under Tata Group, the nation’s largest conglomerate, and offers consulting, cloud computing, app development, cybersecurity and data analytics services to a range of industries, including healthcare, finance and retail.

 

Reorg’s solution serves financial and legal professionals. The company combines reporting with financial and legal analysis to provide a comprehensive view of credit situations and business information. Users access this information through Reorg’s machine learning-powered platform that leverages natural language processing applications. 

 

ServiceNow operates a cloud-based platform that aims to help companies streamline their operations and enhance productivity. It offers tools for workflow automation and IT service management. The software developer’s India-based team makes up 15 percent of its workforce and has worked to develop offerings across generative artificial intelligence solutions.

 

Wipro is the third largest tech company in India, worth about $31 billion. Originally founded as a family-owned vegetable oil manufacturer in 1945, the company has since become a primary provider of AI, robotics, cloud computing and digital transformation services to businesses working in everything from aerospace to pharmaceuticals. Wipro has about 250,000 employees all over the world, including in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. But its main headquarters remains in Bangalore. It also has large offices in Mumbai and Pune.

 

Founded in Chennai in 1994, IT consulting and services firm Cognizant is now headquartered in the United States. But the majority of its workforce remains in India, with six offices in Pune, two offices in Bangalore, and a 10 million square-foot office space in Chennai. According to its website, the company works with the majority of the top pharmaceutical companies, internet companies and healthcare providers in the world, offering services like IoT, cybersecurity and app development.

 

Cisco develops and manufactures networking hardware, software and telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls and servers. Founded in 1984, the California-based company has a market cap of about $200 billion, and employs more than 80,000 people globally — about 12,000 of whom work out of its development center in Bangalore, making it the largest Cisco office outside of the United States, according to the company. These employees are mostly focused on research and development, but the office also staffs IT services and customer support teams.

 

Siemens is a tech company that is best known for merging software and hardware. Operating out of 190 countries, it mainly serves the healthcare, energy, transportation and manufacturing sectors, particularly with its use of industrial internet of things. The company was founded in Germany in 1847, and has had a presence in India since 1867, according to its website. Today, Siemens has a strong manufacturing footprint across the country, various Centres of Competence and R&D facilities, as well as a nationwide sales network. Siemens Digital Industries Software, its Texas-based software subsidiary, also has a regional headquarters in Gurgaon.

 

Byju’s is an e-learning platform that can accommodate a diverse range of learners, whether they’re children at the beginning of their education or adults looking to upskill. From mobile or desktop, it offers one-on-one tutoring sessions, study curriculum and even a 24/7 helpline for subjects ranging from coding to music. The company also incorporates generative AI into its classes to provide a more personalized experience. Founded in Bangalore in 2011, Byju’s is now available in more than 100 countries and now has more than 150 million registered users, according to the company.

 

With more than 400 million active users, PayPal is one of the most popular digital payment platforms in the world. It allows individuals to exchange money with each other electronically, and enables retailers to accept payments from all major credit cards both online and at their brick-and-mortar stores. Headquartered in California, the fintech giant has corporate offices in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, which are dedicated to cloud computing, user experience design, product development, blockchain and artificial intelligence. These technology centers are PayPal’s largest outside of the United States, according to the company.

 

CSC operates in the financial services space. Its offerings include solutions for business administration and compliance, administrative alternative asset management, capital markets transactions, domain name system management and more. CSC operates in India and works to drive technological innovation and digital transformation within the country.

 

Outside of its main headquarters in California, Google has several offices throughout India, including Mumbai, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Hyderabad, where employees work on everything from advertising to machine learning. As one of the largest companies in the world, Google is a pioneer in the tech industry. Beyond its flagship search engine, it is a key player in cloud computing, consumer electronics and artificial intelligence — especially the development of conversational AI and AI assistants.

 

Adobe is a big name in graphic design and content creation. Not only did the SaaS provider invent the PDF file format, but it also offers a portfolio of popular tools like Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. The San Jose-based company employs about 7,800 people in India, making the country home to Adobe’s largest employee base outside of the United States. And in 2023 Adobe announced plans to hire another 2,000 people for its newest office in Bangalore.

 

Course Hero is an edtech company building software marketed to students. Students use digital resources available through the Course Hero platform to improve their course performance and learning experience. It also includes access to services like live tutoring and AI-powered homework help. The company is based in the United States, but hires for remote roles in India. 

 

Motive is a prominent employer in India with an office in Bangalore. It runs a large team that makes and supports AI-powered IoT devices for fleet vehicles and cargo management. Clients in the logistics, shipping and cargo businesses use these devices across entire fleets to keep a close eye on geolocation, driver behavior, vehicle performance and fuel usage, in order to improve both driver safety and cargo reliability.

 

Amazon is a global technology powerhouse, revolutionizing everything from e-commerce to cloud computing to AI development. While its main headquarters is in Seattle, the company has poured billions of dollars into its India business over the years, and plans to invest another $15 billion here by 2030. Amazon’s largest corporate office outside of the United States is located in Hyderabad, which has about 15,000 employees. It also has several offices in Bangalore, where it employs various tech workers, including data scientists and software engineers.

 

Fulcrum GT offers digital business solutions for legal and professional services markets. Its digital business framework digitizes and commercializes processes and data exchanges. The company was founded in 2003 and has offices in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. 

 

Samsara is an AI and IoT company that develops platforms to track hardware data and develops actionable insights to improve its clients’ operations. It has plans to develop its new subsidiary, Samsara Technologies India Private Limited, in Bengaluru to develop features and products to support its customers. The company will search for employees to be part of the founding team to help Samsara scale globally.  

 

An affiliate of the Mahindra Group, Tech Mahindra is an IT services and consulting company, helping thousands of companies all over the world adopt technology like AI, blockchain, 5G, metaverse and quantum computing. It also has several subsidiary companies, including healthtech company HCI Group and car design firm Pininfarina. And in 2013, the company finalized its merger with Indian IT company Satyam, making it the fifth largest software company in the country. Tech Mahindra has more than 150,000 global employees — about 60 percent of which are based in India and work either at its headquarters in Pune or its offices in Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore.

 

Perhaps best known for its eponymous multi-model database management system, Oracle provides cloud infrastructure and a large suite of IT services to help businesses all over the world store, organize, mine and retrieve their data. It also owns programming language platform Java and relational database management system MySQL. The Texas-based company has about 40,000 employees in India, who work out of its offices in Bangalore, Noida and Gurgaon. Plus, Oracle Financial Services Software, a subsidiary of Oracle that develops products for the banking and insurance industries, is headquartered in Mumbai.

 

Clari offers AI-powered products for optimizing revenue management. Its solutions cover automated data capturing, accurate forecasting and other important processes. Clari is a global company serving thousands of users across approximately 170 different countries. The company opened its first international office location in India in 2018.

 

Enfusion makes financial tools that professional financial advisors, traders and asset managers use to organize and improve their business processes. The Enfusion platform includes portfolio management, order and execution management, analytics, and accounting, such that a finance firm can rely solely on its ecosystem for integration of these processes. The company is in a period of growth and scaling up its technical workforce in both the U.S. and India. 

 

Magna International engineers and manufactures mobility technology and related products for the automotive industry. Its product and component lines include vehicle seating systems, elements of auto body exteriors and driver assistance systems that help with parking and occupant monitoring. The company is recruiting in Bangalore.

 

With an office in Gurugram, Tufin offers cloud software that cybersecurity teams use for security policy automation for managing enterprise networks. The company located areas of vulnerability in its clients network through network segmentation, firewall management, risk assessment and compliance automation. This allows clients to use infrastructures and cloud processes without fear of cybercrime or data breaches. 

Salesforce makes enterprise software, offering customer relationship management products to businesses ranging from small startups to major corporations. Its cloud-based applications leverage AI, automation and analytics to help streamline these companies’ sales, marketing and e-commerce operations. Headquartered in San Francisco, Salesforce has offices all over the world, including in Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune and Gurgaon. But most of its Indian employees work out of its Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad, which houses its largest international engineering and customer success teams, according to the company. And the CRM provider is expanding its presence in Hyderabad even more, claiming the city has become an “integral part” of its growth strategy. 

 

Toast develops technology to power the restaurant community. The company combines a cloud-based software solution with restaurant hardware systems to provide a comprehensive platform for operations spanning point-of-sale, guest marketing, employee payroll and more. Toast operates offices in Bangalore and Chennai.

 

Schrödinger offers a computational platform that provides biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions and government labs with tools for facilitating their research. The company’s predictive software works to help scientists accelerate research and development, reduce research costs and make novel discoveries.

 

Arrow Electronics engineers and manufactures electronic components, which are used in computer technology and industrial electronics. Arrow is a crucial element of the industrial electronics supply chain for the aerospace and defense, energy storage, green infrastructure, medicine and healthcare, renewable energy, and transportation sectors. Its Indian operations hub hosts its local team and serves global clients.

 

Formerly known as Facebook, Meta has come a long way from its social media roots, and has since built products to push the boundaries of everything from virtual reality to AI music generation. While the company is headquartered in California, it has a presence in cities throughout India, including Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. And in 2021, Meta opened a new space in Gurugram — its first standalone office in Asia — which spans about 130,000 square feet across six floors.

 

With large offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune, Dublin-based Accenture has about 300,000 employees based in India. A recognizable consulting and IT services company, it works with businesses all over the world to improve their operations and technology, offering expertise in everything from cybersecurity to customer software development. It also applies analytics and artificial intelligence to help clients meet their business objectives more efficiently.

 

Flipkart runs one of the largest e-commerce platforms in India — vying with only Amazon for the top spot — and focuses heavily on tech development to improve users’ shopping experiences. The company is also a lead investor in several India-based tech startups, including Shadofax and Ninjacart. Flipkart is headquartered in Bangalore and has several offices in other cities throughout the country.

 

Intuit makes financial management tools for consumers, self-employed individuals and small businesses. Some of its best-known products include tax preparation app TurboTax, accounting program QuickBooks and credit monitoring service Credit Karma. Headquartered in California, the company’s only India office is in Bangalore, where it employs about 2,000 people.

 

Mondelez International is a confectionery, food and beverage production company with a portfolio that features brands like Oreo, Wheat Thins, belVita, Cadbury, Toblerone and more. The company is based in Chicago with a global team of approximately 80,000 people. Its purpose is to offer people the right snack, for the right moment, made the right way.

 

McCain Foods is a food and beverage manufacturer that aims to empower connection through environmentally conscious food products. The company works to bring digital tools and data into its production processes to help drive efficiency, automation and data-driven insights. McCain operates in more than 160 countries and employs over 20,000 people.

 

Zoom is based in California, but it has several offices throughout India, including its regional headquarters in Mumbai, a technology center in Bangalore and data centers in both Hyderabad and Mumbai. Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic, the videoconferencing behemoth has largely cornered the remote work and education markets, offering its signature virtual meeting platform, as well as an appointment scheduling tool, webinar capabilities and an AI assistant that can help users draft emails, summarize meetings and brainstorm ideas.

 

Datadog hires in Bengaluru and Mumbai. It offers solutions like serverless computing, cybersecurity and infrastructure monitoring that was “designed by engineers, for engineers.” It commits itself to keeping instrumentation libraries and client code open source and is committed to sharing tech libraries throughout the industry. 

 

Udemy offers on-demand global certifications and online courses for topics that include finance, software, business, marketing and IT. Courses can be led by Udemy-specific instructors, field professionals or university professors, depending on the user’s selection. The company has office locations in Mumbai and Gurugram.

 

Founded in 1911, IBM is a global provider of hardware, software, cloud infrastructure and various IT services. It continues to lead research in AI, quantum computing and other emerging fields, too. The New York-based company has about 130,000 employees in India, where it has a regional headquarters and research facility in Bangalore and another research facility in Gurgaon.
