The Opportunity
The Technology Cost Transparency Principal is responsible for leading technology financial transparency, service costing, recovery, transfer pricing, benchmarking, and investment optimization capabilities across MetLife's global Technology organization. Serving as a strategic advisor and trusted thought partner to the Director of Technology Cost Transparency within the Technology Business Management Office (TBMO), this role enables Technology, Finance, and business leaders to make informed investment decisions by establishing meaningful connections among technology cost, consumption, performance, and business value.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape enterprise technology strategy and influence executive decision-making through the use of Apptio, advanced analytics, and AI-powered capabilities that drive accountability, optimize investments, and reimagine the future of technology financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technology cost transparency, service costing, recovery, transfer pricing, benchmarking, and investment optimization capabilities that enable data-driven decision-making across MetLife's global Technology organization.
- Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted thought partner to the Director of Technology Cost Transparency, shaping TBM priorities and influencing executive decision-making through compelling business cases, executive presentations, and actionable recommendations.
- Leverage Apptio as a core component of the TBM operating model, translating technology cost, consumption, and performance data into insights that drive transparency, financial accountability, and business value realization.
- Establish governance over technology financial data sources by integrating Finance, HR, Procurement, Asset, and operational datasets to deliver trusted reporting, analysis, and decision support.
- Drive the adoption of AI-powered capabilities, advanced analytics, and automation opportunities that transform technology financial management processes, accelerate insight generation, reduce manual effort, and enable more proactive decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 7-8+ years of experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), technology financial management, service costing, cost allocation, budgeting, benchmarking, transfer pricing, or related financial disciplines.
- Experience utilizing Apptio and TBM methodologies to deliver technology cost transparency, financial insights, and business value outcomes within a complex technology organization.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders through business cases, executive presentations, and data-driven recommendations that support technology investment and strategic decision-making.
- AI fluency, including the ability to leverage generative AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve processes, accelerate insight generation, and create decision-ready recommendations from complex financial and operational data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified TBM Executive (CTBME), TBM Analyst, FinOps Practitioner, CPA, CMA, or similar finance, accounting, or technology-related certifications.
- Experience applying the TBM Taxonomy and developing insights using Apptio, Power BI, or similar technology financial management and data visualization platforms.
- Experience leading business transformation, operating model modernization, or AI-enabled process improvement initiatives within a large, complex technology organization.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $150 ,000 - $190,000 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
