We are seeking a Thought Leadership Senior Consultant to help accelerate growth for MetLife's Group Benefits business. You'll work across our key market segments and products, becoming familiar with the enterprise and group benefits strategy, brand experience evolution, workforce trends, and thought leadership best practices, shaping crucial strategies to drive impact. In this role, you will help drive brand competitiveness and awareness, consideration, and engagement with our key B2B audiences through compelling thought leadership content and marketing strategies.
Overall, your work will help to fuel MetLife's purpose of being a trusted partner to help customers manage life's twists and turns, generating financial security for our customers and providing peace of mind for employees and families when life is surprising and uncertain.
As a Thought Leadership Senior Consultant, you will be responsible for partnering with the Thought Leadership Director to develop impactful thought leadership content that will reach our target employer and broker audiences-enabling our sales partners to have meaningful conversations, leading to increased awareness, consideration, and perceptions of us as a thought leader.
In this role, you'll work on the Group Benefits Marketing team, which is responsible for unlocking customer and marketplace data and insights, translating these insights into meaningful, customer-centric value propositions, and delivering engaging content across the marketing and sales funnel. The Thought Leadership Marketing team will have specific responsibility for building research-based content and strategies to activate key insights in powerful, differentiating ways. The team owns strategy and execution for a long-standing multi-million-dollar annual thought leadership program. You'll work firsthand with senior leadership, key business partners, and multi-functional stakeholders on an agile thought leadership program, furnishing sales leaders and their teams with the necessary tools for customer engagement, and creating and executing on content that can enable those engagements throughout the year. You'll support the creation of differentiated and impactful go-to-market strategies and content based on insights and data, supporting sales to engage prospects and partners, grow relationships, and win new business. You'll develop compelling messaging and partner with cross-functional teams on exciting marketing campaigns. In many ways, you'll be on the front lines, channeling creative strategy and skilled execution to see immediate and long-range results. You'll also work closely with other teams within and outside of Marketing, including members of our Activation, Communications, Product and Segment Marketing, HR, and sales leadership. You'll build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to guide content, ensuring a cohesive and consistent approach across products, channels and audiences.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Build compelling, forward-looking thought leadership content, leveraging data and insights to enable compelling storytelling that will ultimately drive differentiation and growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional core team members on analysis of complex data sets, connecting dots across multiple sources of expertise and insight, developing powerful arguments, and distilling to most powerful storyline
  • Translate key customer/market insights into actionable thought leadership marketing strategies and content that drive short- and long-term impact
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on workplace and benefits trends, an internal SME on narrative direction and findings
  • Collaborate with partners on robust activation plans across key digital and non-digital channels, supporting cross-functional efforts with solid project management skills
  • Partner with external agencies to develop narrative brief and build core assets to support integrated campaigns and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Insights & Intelligence team to shape thought leadership research opportunities to achieve desired outcomes to inform content strategy
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Group Benefits business priorities, and help guide thought leadership marketing strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Gain a deep understanding of MetLife's target customers, and build a strong capability to translate needs and preferences to drive compelling thought leadership content
  • Stay informed on best practices in B2B thought leadership and content marketing, helping the team optimize and evolve
  • Identify opportunities to drive cohesiveness, consistency and efficiency across the program
  • Help maintain budget including ongoing tracking and reporting to leadership, and provide input to annual strategic/financial planning process
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree; MBA a plus
  • Agency experience/exposure is preferred

The salary range for applicants for this position is 86,200-114,900.
