Job Description

The Senior Manager of Supply Planning will be responsible for ensuring the right materials, components, and finished goods are available at the right time, cost and quality. This role will lead supply planning, and capacity management while building a resilient supply base that can scale with the business.

This role will be responsible for raw material and make & buy finished goods procurement and scheduling plus inventory management. This includes creation of an executable master production schedule to satisfy customer demand while supporting targeted inventory levels, resource utilization, and meeting customer service expectations. This role is a significant contributor and leader to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and key projects. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of supply planners, supply managers, and analysts. Build a high-performance team that includes establishing IDP’s, performance management and reviews, as well as 1:1 coaching and mentoring for all direct reports.
  • Manage supply-demand imbalances with speed and precision, escalating risks proactively
  • Identify risks in the supply network and lead efforts to mitigate them.
  • Develop and maintain supply continuity plans for critical materials and components
  • Represent supply chain planning on high priority, cross functional projects that support growth initiatives.  
  • Facilitate the weekly S&OE Meeting. This includes working with teams to ensure critical items are identified for leadership review.
  • Manage Master Data maintenance to ensure that lot sizes, ordering frequency, DC locations and manufacturing data are aligned for efficiency.
  • Identify drivers for supply disruptions and work to resolve and prevent future occurrences in order to meet or exceed our customer service goals. 
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and provide options for Service recovery.
  • Lead monthly Supply consensus cycle as part of the S&OP processes to align supply with business demand.  Ensure the master production schedule and sourcing supply fits with S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning Process) guidelines as set forth by the management team. Facilitate discussion and resolution where needed for potential supply constraints.
  • Identify, resolve and find root cause to planning issues by using appropriate problem-solving techniques.
  • Understand the linkages and facilitate synergies between all areas that interact with/in the supply chain such as Material Planning, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Production Scheduling, Transportation, Distribution Centers, Order Fulfillment, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance and The Business Units.  Be the product availability focal point for all other groups.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is required; APICS certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related supply chain experience. Some prior supervisory experience or experience coaching others is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ERP systems, preferably top tier Oracle or SAP for Production Planning, MPS, procurement, inventory planning. 
  • Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills are required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate and establish relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Ability to influence and drive solutions across supply chain
  • Must be a team player with the ability to think conceptually, flexibly and a strong focus on execution

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $105,000 USD - $165,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
