Software Engineering Lead (GG11) - .NET Full Stack
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled .NET Full Stack Software Engineer (GG11) to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications across MetLife's enterprise platforms.
This role operates at a senior/lead individual contributor level, responsible for end-to-end solution development, mentoring junior engineers, and driving engineering best practices in alignment with MetLife's digital and data strategy.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in .NET, modern UI frameworks, Azure cloud services, APIs, and data platforms, with the ability to work across full-stack development and enterprise-scale systems.
Key Responsibilities
? Application Development
- Design and develop scalable full-stack applicationsusing:
- .NET Core / .NET 6+
- C#, Web APIs, Microservices
- Modern front-end frameworks (Angular / React / TypeScript)
- Build reusable, maintainable, and testable code following clean architecture principles
API & Integration
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
- Integrate with:
- Enterprise systems
- Data platforms (Databricks, Synapse)
- External APIs
- Implement API security (OAuth2, JWT, Azure AD)
☁️ Cloud & DevOps
- Develop cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure
- App Services, Functions, API Management
- Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience
Data & Analytics Integration
- Work closely with Data Engineering teams

- Contribute to solution architecture and design decisions
- Apply:
- Microservices architecture
- Event-driven patterns
- Domain-driven design (DDD)
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security
? Quality & Engineering Excellence
- Write unit, integration, and performance tests
- Apply:
- TDD / BDD practices
- Code reviews and static code analysis
- Ensure adherence to enterprise coding standards
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide junior engineers (GG9/10)
- Collaborate with:
- Product owners
- Architects
- Data engineers
- Business stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban)
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Security standards
- Data governance policies
- Enterprise risk controls
- Implement logging, monitoring, and auditing solutions
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent
? Experience
- 8-12 years of software development experience
- Strong experience in full-stack development in enterprise environments

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks + Unity Catalog integration
- Exposure to Power BI semantic models / APIs
- Knowledge of:
- Event streaming (Kafka / Event Hub)
- Caching (Redis)
- Experience in financial services / insurance domain
- Understanding of secure coding practices and compliance frameworks
