Position Summary: In this role within the Investments Finance team is principally responsible for supporting the Derivative Net Investment Income/Asset Planning and Projections. RBC and support in the management of daily activities. Team members have interaction with Investments Group as well as other departments across the Enterprise
Job Responsibilities
All tasks require above average excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups
1. Data Inputs
a. Pulling required reports from PAM (ACN1, ACN3, ODBC, etc.)
b. Pulling monthly ledger reports from Essbase
c. Running defined scripts to populate PAR feeds (TimeZero, roll off, cash flows, etc.)
2. Modeling Process
a. Create projection instances
b. Load feeds into the model
c. Fix unassigned buckets in CAB reports
d. Fix erroneous yields for portfolios
e. Prepare various topsides
i. Foreign Bond income topside
ii. Prepare Preferred Stock Projection income
iii. P&C Inverse Floater Topside
iv. FHLB Dividend Topside
v. Gables Loan Income Topside
vi. Policy Loans Income Topside
f. Submit calculation / cube processes
g. Run monthly rate sensitivities (vs. prior, vs. prior, rates, spreads)
h. Run monthly STAT projections
i. Run quarterly STRESS projections
3. Data Outputs
a. Roll forward and refresh BI reports pulled from PAR
b. Create submission templates for Int'l Reporting database
c. Load feeds into Int'l Reporting database
Education
- BCom in Accounting or Finance.
- 1-2 Years of experience working with Advanced Excel in a corporate setting, including the use of pivot tables and v-lookups.
Skills:
- • Insurance and/or Investment industry experience.
- • US GAAP & STAT knowledge
- • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate with all levels of management; work effectively independently as well as with teammates.
- • Advanced Excel skills.
- • Strong communication & analytical skills required.
- • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, solve problems and ability to meet deadlines are required.
- • Must be able to work with multiple departments in the compilation of data and the reporting of financial information.
- • Knowledge of Alteryx very helpful.
