ABOUT THE TEAM
From life jackets to lawnmowers, toys to televisions, beauty and wellness, vitamins and supplements, we're involved in almost every consumer product you can imagine. We work with some of the largest retailers in the world, performing market surveillance, auditing and inspecting the products we put in and on our bodies. We help customers ensure that not only are their products themselves safe, but their supply chains are using ethically and sustainably sourced materials. We build close relationships, providing advice and expertise to help them deliver safer products that meet the latest requirements and manufacture them fairly. - Contributes to research and protocol creation and maintenance for consumer product categories.
- Participates in the continuous improvement of the research and protocol process.
- Supports department communications and works with UL staff to respond to inquiries.
- May be asked to support the development of newsletters, announcements and publications relating to the assigned research scope.
- Communicates with global regulatory and standards bodies to obtain regulations not available through online research.
- May also be required to contact regulatory bodies to clarify understanding of published standards and regulations to aid in technical inquiry response, test method creation, or other technical service needs.
- Monitors and measures productivity and quality of research to contribute to departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by providing technical advice, training and peer review as needed.
- May assist in the development and implementation of special projects.
- Reads and follows the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED.
- University Degree (equivalent to a Bachelors degree) from an accredited program in related field, generally plus two years related work experience.
MINIMUM SKILLS PREFERRED.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required, proficiency in a secondary/multiple language(s) a plus.
- Strong skills in internet research, Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
MINIMUM ABILITIES PREFERRED.
- Ability to read, interpret and present a basic knowledge of regulations, standards, test methods and protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with a sense of urgency while maintaining high quality and customer focus.
- Ability to work virtually, in a multicultural, global environment.

Skills Required
