The Opportunity
The Actuarial Assistant will participate in MetLife's US Actuarial Development Program (ADP), a rotational program designed to develop future actuarial leaders of MetLife. Participants (known as "actuarial students") apply actuarial principles to develop innovative solutions and contribute to the company's success. To support their professional development, actuarial students rotate to new assignments approximately every two years across key areas of MetLife's businesses. These experiences help them develop into well-rounded actuaries with expertise in a broad range of actuarial disciplines. Potential areas include pricing and product development, valuation and reserve calculations, actuarial modeling, financial analysis, asset-liability management, and investments.

Required Qualifications
- Perform calculations, data analysis, and risk evaluations that are actuarial in nature.
- Gather, organize, and analyze data; conduct research; and develop recommendations for stakeholders.
- Prepare for and pass actuarial exams administered by the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and work towards becoming qualified as a Fellow of the SOA (FSA). The Actuarial Development program provides study days, study material reimbursements, exam salary increases, and other support to help participants succeed in the examination process.
- Balance work responsibilities with ongoing actuarial studies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in actuarial science or a quantitative, technical, business, or similar field of study relevant to actuarial practice.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated commitment to becoming a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), which may be evidenced through passed exams, actuarial work experience, involvement in actuarial organizations and clubs, and relevant academic coursework or degree programs.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable results.
Highly motivated with strong leadership and communication skills.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is 67,400 - 89,900 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
