We are seeking a highly skilled Software/Platform Engineer, a position with hands-on in Java SpringBoot with Azure development. He/she will be responsible for hands-on development, design and technical solutions that are primarily based on Microsoft Azure and Java/SpringBoot technologies. This family can be used for both roles that require a complete technology stack of capabilities as well as roles that require to work on a single technology stack, application or platform.
Software or Platform engineering role can be used where the work requires a minimal amount of technology stack capabilities, work on a single application or roles that support platforms, SaaS, COTS
Key Relationships:
Internal Stake Holder - EMEA ART Leader, ART Leadership team, India EMEA Technology AVP, and Business process Owners for EMEA Technology.
Key Responsibilites:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and REST APIs using Spring Boot.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.
- Implement cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure, including deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
- Work with containerization platforms such as Docker and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes preferred).
- Write well-structured SQL queries and optimize database performance across relational systems.
- Document specifications and translate tech requirement into software application modules
- Ensure adherence to RESTful architecture principles and API best practices.
- Adhering to strict IT Control Policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, QA, DevOps, UI/UX) in an Agile environment.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to architecture discussions, and support continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Education:
Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent
Technical Skills:
- Main Skill: Strong hands-on in Java development/Spring Boot
- Secondary skill: SQL and Azure
- Experience in requirements definition and analysis (writing use cases, data mapping artifacts, creating swaggers, etc.)
- Experience in an Agile & Dev Ops Methodology environment
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Data, and related Spring ecosystem technologies.
- Proven experience designing and implementing REST APIs
- Strong experience with Azure cloud services (App Services, Azure SQL, API Management, Key Vault, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus)
- Solid understanding of SQL, database schema design, optimization, and performance tuning
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps or similar tooling
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced delivery environment
- Product/Business/Industry experience
- Application Design/Architecture
- Collaboration: Proven track record collaborating and working effectively in a global and multi-cultural environment
- Diverse environment: Can-do attitude and ability to work in a high paced environment
- Ability to support CI/CD pipeline setup and operations
Preferred:
- Experience in the Insurance industry is a significant advantage.
- Experience with message brokers (Kafka, Azure Service Bus)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Understanding of API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect)
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks (JUnit etc.)
- Java and Azure certifications
