You will join the Calibration team with the objective of ensuring the reliability, quality, and metrological consistency of laboratory instruments and systems.
Your role will be focused on process development, technical support, and continuous improvement, with a lower level of direct involvement in calibration activities compared to a dedicated technical specialist role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Instrumentation and Automation
- Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory instrumentation, automated test systems, and test fixtures.
- Support the installation, validation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of laboratory systems and infrastructure.
- Identify automation opportunities to increase the efficiency, quality, and safety of testing activities.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to internal users.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure standardization, scalability, and consistency of laboratory solutions.
Calibration and Metrology
- Plan and oversee calibration and maintenance activities for laboratory instrumentation.
- Define technical requirements, acceptance criteria, calibration intervals, and measurement uncertainties.
- Review, approve, and issue calibration certificates in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and qualify calibration services provided by external partners.
Technical Documentation
- Prepare and update procedures, work instructions, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Support the development and validation of test methods and calibration procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, accreditation requirements, and company standards.
Laboratory Operations Management
- Coordinate laboratory investment projects, managing technical aspects, suppliers, budgets, and timelines.
- Contribute to activity planning and continuous process improvement through Lean methodologies and operational best practices.
- Ensure compliance with UL Standards of Business Conduct and physical and digital security practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline).
- Proven experience in calibration, metrology, automation, or laboratory instrumentation management.
- Strong knowledge of measurement instruments, metrology principles, and measurement uncertainty.
- Experience with automated test systems and equipment used in testing and certification laboratories.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience applying continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma).
- Experience in project management and working collaboratively with cross-functional and international teams.
- Ability to coach and provide technical support to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, customer orientation, and a collaborative team-working approach.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and make effective decisions, even in complex situations.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
What we offer:
We understand that remuneration and benefits are important when deciding on your next career move. The annual salary range for this position in Italy is EUR 38,100 - 50,800 gross, determined by numerous factors, including knowledge, skills, and experience. This position also offers an annual bonus of up to 10% of annual salary.
