Who is Sonar?

Sonar is driving the future of agent-centric software development. As the leader in AI code review and verification, we solve a critical problem: ensuring that software generated by AI-assisted developers or autonomous agents is reliable, secure, and maintainable.

Integrating seamlessly with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Devin, we help over 75% of the Fortune 100 build trusted, reliable, compliant software. Customers who use Sonar are 44% less likely to report an outage due to AI-generated code.

We believe code verification is the critical missing link in the Agent-Centric Development Cycle (AC/DC). Industry giants like Nvidia, ServiceNow, Booking.com, Goldman Sachs, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company count on us to provide independent, explainable, consistent review and governance of their AI-generated code via products like:

  • SonarQube: The world’s leading AI code review and verification platform.

  • SonarQube Foundation Agent: Currently topping the leaderboards for agentic software repair.

  • SonarSweep & Sonar Context Augmentation: Providing the enterprise-grade context and constraints agents need to be truly effective.

Our team operates across global hubs in Austin, Bochum, Dubai, Geneva, London, Singapore, Tokyo, and Washington D.C. We move with a mindset we call CODE:

  • Committed to our customers and community.

  • Obsessed with quality.

  • Deliberate in our decisions.

  • Effective as one team.

With over $400M in revenue and profitable, fast-paced growth, we are building the backbone of the AI software revolution. If you’re hungry to have an impact, want to build at a fast pace, and ready to work at the forefront of AI, we want to hear from you.

Position description

Asia-Pacific & Japan is one of Sonar’s fastest-growing regions, and we are investing to match its momentum. Based in our Singapore hub, the Regional Marketing Manager is a full-funnel role created to scale marketing across APJ on two fronts: partnering with and supporting our Field Marketing Manager on regional events and field programs, and owning regional demand generation to drive a consistent, measurable flow of pipeline — working hand-in-hand with our performance marketing agency and central team to take that demand to market. You will help turn global campaigns into locally resonant programs across diverse markets — from English-language markets like Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, and India, to local-language markets across Japan, North Asia, and the rest of Southeast Asia.

A core part of the role is making Sonar speak the language of the region. You will coordinate and prioritize the localization of sales enablement materials and web pages — Japanese as the clear priority, with the potential to expand into Mandarin Chinese, Korean, and other regional languages — managing translation partners and vendors to ensure quality and cultural relevance. Success requires equal parts strategic thinking, hands-on execution, strong analytics, and a genuine understanding of the distinct marketing, buyer, and cultural dynamics that make each APJ market unique.

What you will do

    • Own regional demand generation: Plan and execute APJ demand gen programs — webinars, content syndication, email, event follow-up, and account-based programs — across global and region-specific channels (e.g., LinkedIn, content syndication, and local platforms such as WeChat, LINE, Naver, and Yahoo Japan) to drive a consistent, measurable flow of pipeline.

    • Coordinate with performance marketing: Partner with our performance marketing agency and central team to brief, launch, and optimize regional paid programs (search, social, display), owning the APJ inputs, targeting, and results — much as you will with SEO.

    • Support and amplify field marketing: Partner with and support the region’s Field Marketing Manager to deliver events, executive roundtables, workshops, webinars, trade shows, and booths across APJ — helping plan, staff, and follow up so programs convert into pipeline.

    • Lead localization and prioritization: Coordinate and prioritize localization of web pages and sales enablement materials — Japanese first, with potential expansion to Mandarin Chinese, Korean, and other regional languages — managing translation vendors and partnering with web and content teams to ship quality, culturally relevant assets.

    • Optimize regional web and search presence: Partner with web, SEO, and content teams to grow organic and AI-driven (LLM/GEO) visibility and conversion for APJ markets and local-language pages.

    • Drive pipeline and reporting discipline: Contribute to the regional pipe-gen cadence — tracking true leads and true pipeline against goals, and delivering monthly and quarterly reporting on program performance with clear, data-driven recommendations.

    • Partner on channel and partner marketing: Collaborate with channel and alliance partners on co-hosted events and joint campaigns that generate incremental pipeline at scale.

    • Bring market and cultural insight: Maintain a deep understanding of the distinct marketing, buyer, and cultural dynamics of countries across APJ — with particular depth in Japan — and translate that insight into how programs are designed, localized, and prioritized.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with regional sales, the global field and corporate marketing teams, web, demand gen, and communications/PR to ensure aligned messaging, strategy, and seamless execution across the region.

    • Manage budget: Help allocate and steward the regional marketing budget for maximum return.

Experience and qualifications

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Have 5+ years of experience spanning demand generation and field or integrated marketing, preferably within the APJ region.

    • Bring a proven track record of planning demand gen programs and coordinating paid campaigns with internal teams or agencies (search, social, display, ABM, content syndication) to drive measurable pipeline, alongside supporting field events and programs.

    • Have a strong, hands-on understanding of APJ market dynamics, cultural nuances, and business practices across both English-language and local-language markets — with particular depth in Japan.

    • Be experienced coordinating localization of web and enablement content, ideally including Japanese, with Mandarin Chinese and/or Korean a strong plus, and comfortable managing translation vendors.

    • Have strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, optimize spend, track pipeline, and report on ROI across channels.

    • Be familiar with SEO/SEM and emerging AI/LLM search optimization, and the regional digital platforms relevant to APJ.

    • Be highly organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects, markets, and stakeholders simultaneously and independently.

    • Be proficient with marketing automation tools and CRM systems (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Salesforce).

    • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments, time zones, and cultures.

    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA a plus).

    • Be willing to travel within the APJ region as required.

What We Do

Sonar provides the essential verification layer for the AI-driven development era, ensuring all code—whether human-written or AI-generated—is code you can trust. Today, AI coding tools are generating explosive volumes of code. This has created an "engineering productivity paradox" : faster code writing doesn't automatically lead to faster, safer software delivery. The new bottleneck is verification. Sonar solves this. Integrating code quality and code security into a single platform (SonarQube), Sonar is the foundation for high performance software engineering, analyzing over 750 billion lines of code daily to ensure applications are secure, reliable, and maintainable. As an independent verification platform, Sonar enables organizations to securely develop at the speed of AI. We are driven by a deep belief in our people, a commitment to excellence, and an unwavering dedication to delivery. We operate as a united group where our collective success is the sum of each individual's contributions. Our company culture is driven by the values of CODE: Committed, Obsessed, Deliberate & Effective. This mindset reflects our culture of creativity, collaboration, and pride in the work we do. Rooted in the open source community, Sonar’s solutions support over 35 programming languages, frameworks, and infrastructure technologies. Today, Sonar is used by 7M+ developers worldwide, including ServiceNow, Booking.com, Deutsche Bank, AstraZeneca, and Ford Motor Company. Sonar is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland with additional offices in Austin, Texas; Bochum, Germany; London, Singapore, and Tokyo. The company is rapidly growing with over 800 employees! Join us in our mission to solve the trillion-dollar challenge of bad code!
