Program Manager - Software, Chemical Management and SDS

JOB DESCRIPTION
Program Manager overseeing chemical management and SDS indexing, coordinating processes, systems, and stakeholders to ensure accurate chemical data, regulatory compliance, and safe workplace practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the implementation of large, complex chemical management and SDS indexing programs across the enterprise.
• Provides overall leadership and direction to one or more cross-functional project teams supporting chemical data governance, compliance, and SDS lifecycle management.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for program-related activities, issues, risks, and escalations associated with chemical management and SDS indexing initiatives.
• Identifies, manages, and mitigates program risks and issues, implementing corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance, data accuracy, and program objectives are met.
• Partners with C-Suite executives, Business Unit Leaders, EHS, IT, and Finance to define program objectives and develop ROI, IRR, and other financial and business performance measures.
• Collaborates with Purchasing and Procurement to develop purchase orders, manage supplier relationships, and oversee vendors supporting chemical management systems and SDS services.
• Leads stakeholder communications, ensuring clear, timely, and consistent updates on program status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
• Defines and enforces program governance, including controls, standards, and compliance requirements related to chemical management and SDS data.
• Plans and manages the overall program roadmap, monitoring progress and performing day-to-day program management throughout the full program lifecycle.
• Owns the program budget and financial performance, ensuring alignment with approved funding and business outcomes.
• Coordinates multiple projects and their interdependencies, ensuring successful integration of systems, data, and processes related to chemical management and SDS indexing.
• Manages and optimizes resource utilization across projects, balancing priorities, timelines, and regulatory demands.
• May manage the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, setting performance objectives, providing coaching and feedback, and ensuring adherence to company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS

• Demonstrated leadership ability, technical and business acumen and industry knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, with Executive Level reporting and escalation experience.
• Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites.
• Communication across programs, projects and areas (business functions and IT functions).
• Background in the development of strategic and tactical planning of technology and people resources necessary for successful completion of several large-scale projects.
• Ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives with a minimal amount of supervision.
• Ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change.
• Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and financial skills.
• Ability to innovate under new and/or changing conditions.

EXPERIENCE

• Over ten years of project management experience running large-scale, distributed/complex projects with multiple parallel threads of work.
• Experience developing, evaluating and submitting business cases for major capital investments.
• Experience with cross geographical project coordination and management.
• Experience with developing RFI/RFP and scoring mechanisms preferred.
• Experience in Organizational Change Management.

EDUCATION

• Bachelors' degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
• Examples include: MBA, MA in Project Management, or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
• PMP and/or Agile certifications preferred but not required with related hands-on delivery experience.

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000 USD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
