For our European Engineered Materials department, we are looking for a Polymer Materials Chemist (m/f/i) with strong expertise in polymer materials, and a passion for working with both domestic and international clients and colleagues.

Your role:
In this position, you will work closely with laboratory staff in Krefeld, engineers across Europe, as well as with peers locally and globally. A key responsibility is the analysis and interpretation of laboratory test results (IR, DSC, TGA). You will compare new data with historical results from customers, identify deviations, and provide clear, scientifically grounded explanations for any differences observed and communicate and discuss with customers and engineers.
Training & Onboarding:
To ensure your success, you will participate in a comprehensive training program lasting 6-12 months. During the first six months, you may spend up to 50% of your time at our laboratory in Krefeld (Germany) to build hands-on experience and collaborate closely with the team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Records and explains test results and completes test reports.
- Communicates project status and results as needed.
- Holds responsibility for defining test plan, report completion and accuracy, meeting of agreed deadlines, and managing project related activities.
- Communicates with internal/external customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
- Understands and is able to explain specific test standards and product technology for scope of responsibility.
- Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in chemistry, polymer- and/or materials science or related field.
- Experience with Polymers
- English language skills (fluent speaking/reading and writing is a must have)
- German language skills (fluent speaking/reading and writing is a must have)
- Experience with Infrared Analysis (IR), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
- Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills and willing to go the extra mile
- Good analytical skills and looking for continuous improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Great cooperation skills and open for feedback
