We are looking for a Performance Engineering Manager.
Role Purpose
Responsible for defining, evolving, and governing the Performance Engineering practice under an AI First approach, ensuring technology solutions are resilient, scalable, observable, secure, and capable of meeting business needs with high levels of quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.
This role will act as a Tech Lead within the organization, with a high degree of accountability for technical quality, platform stability, security, reliability, and continuous improvement across systems within its sphere of influence. The successful candidate will foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and engineering excellence.
The leader will be responsible for establishing the performance strategy from the earliest stages of the software development lifecycle, incorporating load, stress, volume, stability, and capacity testing, as well as monitoring, bottleneck analysis, and data-driven technical recommendations. The role will also champion the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence to accelerate scenario design, script generation, result analysis, anomaly detection, and engineering decision-making.
This position will collaborate closely with Development, Architecture, DevSecOps, Operations, Quality Engineering, and Global teams to strengthen performance engineering practices, integrate them into DevOps pipelines, increase developer productivity, and provide executive dashboards with clear, traceable, and actionable metrics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and govern the Performance Engineering strategy for critical applications, digital products, APIs, integrations, and enterprise platforms.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and continuous evolution of performance testing, including load, stress, volume, endurance, scalability, capacity, stability, and resiliency testing.
  • Act as a Tech Lead within the development organization, modeling accountability, ownership, execution discipline, urgency, and high technical standards.
  • Raise engineering standards by ensuring technical decisions incorporate security, privacy, reliability, maintainability, scalability, observability, resiliency, and efficiency by design.
  • Establish standards, methodologies, templates, and entry/exit criteria for performance testing within Agile, SAFe, and DevOps frameworks.
  • Implement a shift-left approach to integrate performance validations throughout design, architecture, story refinement, development, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Promote Developer Productivity practices that simplify processes, reduce waste, accelerate delivery cycles, improve developer experience, and increase measurable team productivity.
  • Foster an engineering-driven culture where decisions are based on data, automation, metrics, continuous learning, and business outcomes.
  • Encourage a Build over Buy mindset by evaluating opportunities to develop strategic internal capabilities when they drive speed, differentiation, organizational learning, or cost efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives focused on Better, Faster, Cheaper outcomes: better solutions, faster delivery, and more efficient operations while maintaining high standards of security, quality, and risk management.
  • Promote the use of AI to generate test scenarios, identify risk patterns, prioritize testing efforts, support script creation, analyze results, and detect performance anomalies.
  • Champion the responsible use of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot Enterprise, Claude Code, Azure AI, k6, BlazeMeter MCP, JMeter + Agents, Test Flows Performance, and other approved capabilities to accelerate analysis, documentation, scripting, and reporting while maintaining human oversight, security, and governance.
  • Evaluate tools, frameworks, and accelerators for performance testing, observability, monitoring, log analysis, data generation, and intelligent automation.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, processes, risk controls, security, privacy, quality standards, and responsible AI usage guidelines.
  • Develop technical talent, foster communities of practice, and advance team maturity toward a predictive, automated, and data-driven performance engineering model.
  • Identify operational efficiency opportunities through automation, asset reuse, script standardization, scenario catalogs, productivity metrics, and continuous learning enabled by AI.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience within the insurance industry, financial services, or enterprise environments with critical, high-availability applications.
  • 6+ years of experience in Performance Engineering, Performance Testing, Quality Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar disciplines.
  • Experience leading technical teams, vendors, specialized capabilities, and engineering practices within matrix organizations.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of load testing, stress testing, volume testing, endurance testing, capacity planning, scalability testing, resiliency testing, and bottleneck analysis.
  • Experience with performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, k6, Gatling, BlazeMeter, Dynatrace, Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience integrating performance validations into DevOps pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Copilot Enterprise, Claude Code, GitHub Actions, GitHub Pages, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, or equivalent solutions. Practical knowledge of GitHub Copilot Enterprise and Claude Code is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of observability, log analytics, metrics, tracing, alerting, SLOs, SLAs, and operational reliability practices aligned with applicable ISO/IEC standards.
  • Experience applying Artificial Intelligence or advanced analytics to accelerate analysis, script generation, documentation, anomaly detection, risk prioritization, or executive reporting.
  • Knowledge of APIs, microservices, monolithic architecture, cloud platforms, databases, middleware, systems integration, and scalability patterns.
  • Ability to translate technical performance results into clear and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders, development teams, architecture teams, and leadership.
  • Certification or demonstrated experience in ISTQB, SAFe, Scrum, DevOps, SRE, Cloud, Performance Testing, Observability, AI Fundamentals, ISO/IEC standards, GitHub Copilot Enterprise, or Claude Code is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills, data analysis capabilities, problem-solving abilities, executive communication skills, and results orientation.
  • Engineering and productivity mindset with the ability to operate efficiently, measure impact, prioritize value, automate processes, and continuously elevate delivery standards.
