The Manager, US Tax Accounting role supports the execution and coordination of U.S. income tax accounting activities, with a primary focus on GAAP and STAT tax provision processes. The role requires strong technical expertise in income tax accounting, combined with analytical skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders during financial close cycles.
This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate preparation, consolidation, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions, while supporting tax risk management and the identification and tracking of uncertain tax positions. The Manager operates within a high-performing and collaborative tax environment, contributing to timely and compliant tax reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual U.S. tax provisions under both GAAP and STAT, including analysis of Current Tax Payable (CTP) and Deferred Tax Liabilities (DTL).
- Consolidate U.S. GAAP and STAT tax provision results, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting frameworks.
- Prepare and provide detailed explanations of quarterly Effective Tax Rate (ETR) movements, supporting internal review and stakeholder understanding.
- Coordinate and manage tax reporting deliverables required for monthly and quarterly financial close, working closely with relevant stakeholders to meet timelines.
- Support return-to-provision analyses, ensuring alignment between tax provision estimates and filed returns.
- Assist in the identification, measurement, and tracking of uncertain tax positions, including support for tax audits and related adjustments.
Education
- Chartered Accountant or
- MBA from a reputed institution, preferably with a specialization related to Taxation, Finance, or Accounting
Technical Skills
- Strong technical income tax accounting expertise
- Hands-on experience in GAAP and STAT tax provision execution
- Ability to perform ETR analysis and analytical interpretation
- Experience coordinating tax deliverables during financial close cycles
- Knowledge of tax risk management and uncertain tax position identification, measurement, and tracking
Experience
- 6-8 years of experience in US Direct Tax accounting or Income tax accounting
- Relevant experience in tax consolidation and tax provision processes, particularly under US GAAP and STAT
