What you'll do:


Job Family Definition:

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing lab resources, operations, and service execution to support business and engineering needs. Partners with stakeholders to improve processes, optimize resource utilization, manage costs, and enhance operational efficiency.


Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and execute plans that support program objectives and successful project delivery. Supports resource planning, capacity management, and demand forecasting to ensure lab resources are available when needed.


Scope includes Shared Lab operations and service execution, including resource lifecycle management, lab reservations, asset allocation, hardware installation support, service request fulfillment, inventory management, shipment support, and cross-site resource coordination.


Oversees lab infrastructure operations, resource utilization, capacity planning, and inventory health to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery.

Monitors and reports key operational metrics, including lab availability, resource utilization, SLA performance, request turnaround time, equipment readiness, inventory accuracy, and overall operational efficiency.


Management Level Definition:

Applies specialized subject matter knowledge to solve moderately complex issues within established guidelines. Typically supervises lower-level supervisors and/or highly-skilled non-exempt individual contributors in single functional area. Responsible for the supervision of activities and resources needed to support the day-to-day efforts of the department and to achieve the business plan. Provides general supervision to lower level supervisors and direct supervision to highly-skilled non-exempt employees. Provides direction and expertise to departmental teams and participates in cross-department initiatives. Acts as a point of escalation for subordinate employees as well as supervisors. Does not require day-to-day supervision, and has the ability to handle most unique situations. May need advice in order to make decision on complex business issues.


Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for lab resource planning and demand management across multiple programs, ensuring efficient utilization, cost management, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Manages a team of skilled individual contributors responsible for supporting day-to-day lab operations and services.
  • Responsible for hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development, while ensuring the team has the tools, resources, and processes needed for success.
  • Ensures the delivery of lab services and operational support that meet defined performance and service-level objectives.
  • Oversees lab resource allocation and utilization, connecting planning with execution, identifying capacity constraints, and proactively addressing operational risks and impacts.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve lab processes, optimize resource usage, and support successful program execution.
  • Monitors key operational metrics, including lab availability, resource utilization, service request turnaround time, inventory accuracy, and SLA performance.
  • Performs hands-on tasks including server assembly, hardware installation, component replacement, system bring-up, rack integration, cable routing, and hardware troubleshooting.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically, 4+ years' experience.
  • Including at least 1+ years of supervisory experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of lab operations, resource planning, and utilization management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and the local language (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • PCBA rework and soldering skills to perform component replacement, board-level modifications, prototype support, hardware repair.
  • Effective people management skills, including leading teams and influencing stakeholders across functions.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage subject matter expertise when needed.
  • Experience in tracking and reporting operational metrics, such as resource utilization, SLA performance, inventory accuracy, and lab efficiency.
