Cox Enterprises is hiring a Waste & Circularity Intern to join our team! The Waste & Circularity Intern will work closely with Cox Conserves team members and others across the organization to support enterprise-wide sustainability initiatives. The intern will assist with executing Cox's multifaceted sustainability strategy, including working with internal and external partners to develop and implement projects that reduce the overall environmental impact of our operations, facilitating data collection and analysis efforts for enterprise and business unit reporting, and researching scalable sustainability management practices for complex organizations experiencing rapid new growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational & Strategic Support: Work closely with Cox Conserves and other cross-functional groups to support enterprise-wide conservation efforts and strategic programmatic development across carbon, water, waste and biodiversity
- Data Collection & Analysis: Support the collection and analysis of sustainability data for Cox locations across our multiple divisions
- Secondary Research: Conduct secondary research and summarize findings on how rapidly growing organizations effectively integrate new growth businesses into corporate sustainability strategy
- Other Duties: The intern may have other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Required:
- Passion for environmental sustainability and resource conservation
- Understanding of organizational sustainability practices
- Familiarity with sustainability management principles
- Preferred:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field
- Experience with Microsoft 365 apps and services such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and geospatial software
- LEED, ISSP, or similar certifications

- Strong communication (both written and verbal) and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Working Conditions

USD 22.02 - 33.08 per hour
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate is in the range of $22.02 - $33.08/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
