Our dynamic built environment engineering team in Telford is seeking a Certification Engineer, where you'll play a crucial role in the certification of fenestration and cladding products for the UK market. In this hands-on position, you'll manage the delivery of certification projects and develop comprehensive testing plans for our clients across the UK and Europe.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- As a Certification Engineer, you are the glue that engages the customer and the UL Solutions' engineering teams together, ensuring the successful delivery of their testing projects.
- Initially, you'll work with customers to determine project scope, develop a preliminary plan of investigation, and determine project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements.
- Establish appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.
- Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians
- Key to your success will be your ability to engage with customers, updating them on the testing phases, notifying them of any non-compliance with UL requirements and dealing with any issues the customer has.
- You will organise and complete factory audits.
- Create UL certification documentation.
- Projects may include travel to conduct audits at client sites.
- Provide technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.

QUALIFICATIONS
- University Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
- Experience is not required, but nice to have.
- Working knowledge of relevant industry conformity standards relating to fenestration (windows) and cladding would be highly desirable.
- Strong customer-focus and the ability to engage with customers and build solid relationships.

This position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 5% of base salary.
