Job Description:
The R&D Business Finance Partner - FP & A - will be the face of finance from the Bangalore FP&A Org to the Finance and Business leadership for the R & D Networking Business Unit. The spectrum of responsibilities would range from ownership for the financials (for both Financial Orders and Opex) to providing the day-to-day support and guidance to Finance and Business Leaders for R & D sub-functions like Campus & Branch, Networking Products and Technology etc, being their primary point of contact for their operational as well as high end analytical requirements. The right candidate must be technically savvy in terms of data analysis, manipulation and synthesis as well as project-oriented to craft and create rhythm of the business KPIs, end-to-end process improvements etc.
What you'll do:
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Building and Owning up (a): Quarterly forecasts and (b): Annual budgets in close collaboration with onshore finance and business partners / leaders – in-depth analysis of Revenue and Opex drivers and driving the forecast / budget review calls to finalize the numbers - preparation and submission of forecast / budget packs into Tool and Corporate Finance leaders.
- Month Close: Close Supervision of the MEC process – Driving MEC review calls with finance partners, ensuring indepth understanding and analysis of actuals, passing of Journal Entries and preparation of MEC reporting packs including variance explanations with full ownership.
- Business reviews and Presentations: Supporting senior leadership team during monthly / quarterly business reviews
- Business Understanding: Excellent level of understanding of the business scenarios and experience of handling complex ‘what-if’ situations on a speedy basis.
- Reporting: Preparation of the reporting packages on a monthly basis for various parameters such as Headcount, Cost trends etc.
- BI Tools: Knowledge and hand-on experience on business intelligence applications.
- Balance Sheet: Monitoring of B/S items relating to Segments and understanding their impact on the P/L for accruals, forecasting and budgeting.
- Supporting ad-hoc requests of customers.
- Master Data Management related activities.
- Operational Support: being a spoc or “Go to” person to the finance and business leaders for all operational level support.
What you need to bring:
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 to 12 years of dedicated FP&A experience for Graduates / Post-Graduates OR 6 - 8 years of post-qualification experience for candidates with professional qualification (CMA / CA). Prior experience with FP&A Orgs preferred
• Expertise in MS Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Highly competent in data crunching / manipulating & analyzing large data and drawing key insights.
• An ability to excel with limited direction/supervision and under ambiguous circumstances.
• Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively across multiple functions and with varied levels of management.
• Outstanding verbal and written communicator across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
• Solid fundamental accounting knowledge.
• Education: Finance Graduates & Post Graduates (B.Com, BBM, BBA, MBA, M.Com); CMAs & CAs will have preference.
(People from BSc, BE and other non-finance backgrounds not preferred since the job has high core accounting conceptual requirement calling for accounting interpretations with Statutory Auditors and GL teams on a regular basis)
