Frequently Asked Questions

Job Satisfaction

At Vertafore, we want employees to feel supported, challenged and excited about the work they do. That starts with flexibility. Our Flexible First approach gives employees the freedom to balance work and life in ways that work for them, whether that's working remotely or connecting with colleagues in the office. That commitment to flexibility and wellbeing recently earned Vertafore a Comparably Best Work-Life Balance award in 2026.

Career growth is another important part of the employee experience. Each year, approximately 20% of our workforce moves into a new role or earns a promotion, reflecting our commitment to developing talent from within. Through mentorship, professional development workshops, tuition reimbursement and opportunities to explore different career paths, employees have resources to keep learning and growing. Managers play an important role, too, with regular feedback, performance conversations and individual development plans that help employees set goals and take the next steps in their careers.

We also believe job satisfaction comes from feeling heard and knowing your contributions matter. Our twice-annual Voice of Vertafore engagement survey gives employees a direct way to share feedback and help shape our workplace. That feedback has led to meaningful changes, including the rollout of our Vertafore Leadership System to strengthen manager accountability, small-group listening sessions with leadership and more opportunities for collaboration across teams.

Recognition and connection are also woven into our culture. Each quarter, our Vertafore Way Champions program celebrates employees who go above and beyond for their colleagues, customers and teams. Company-wide initiatives like our annual Hackathon, Innovation Summit and Vertafore Cares Week give employees opportunities to share ideas, collaborate across departments, give back to their communities and connect beyond their day-to-day responsibilities.

Whether someone is building new technology, supporting customers or helping our teams succeed behind the scenes, we want employees to have the support, opportunities and sense of community to do meaningful work and grow their careers at Vertafore.

Vertafore Employee Perspectives

Describe your experience as a woman in engineering. What are some of the challenges you’ve faced, and how have you overcome them?

As a woman navigating the technology industry, a male-dominated space, for 15 years, I’ve learned to better understand the male mind and thought process. There are a wide array of intellectual and social aptitudes and egos within this industry. I’ve found it empowering to engage and connect with everyone (despite aversions) to strive for cohesion and more fluid information flow. Overcoming barriers with people, combined with a systematic and detailed project approach, leads to a thriving team and successful outcome!

What are your professional goals, and how has your current company enabled you to pursue them?

I continue to cultivate critical thinking, decision-making and leadership skills daily. It’s great knowing Vertafore offers annual certification reimbursement, internal advancement and team transfer opportunities to help their staff’s growth.

What advice do you have for women in engineering or other technical roles regarding how to identify a company and team that will support their growth and development?

For women entering the technical workforce, I’d suggest looking for companies that have an outstanding reputation. The staff quality and mentorship you’ll receive from top tier peers is pivotal to how quickly you’ll grow. I’d also look for a job description that best fits your career path. If you pursue a more exact fit, you’ll be happier in the role and in-turn excel faster within that position.

Vertafore's approach to AI emphasizes augmenting, not replacing, human judgment, giving underwriters and other experts better information rather than automating their decisions.

"The goal is to amplify each individual's impact, not by replacing their judgment, but by removing friction and accelerating the tasks that support strong decision-making."

In one line, how would you summarize how the market sees you right now?

I think the market sees Vertafore as a trusted, deeply established insurance technology partner that’s also helping define what’s next — especially around agentic AI, connected technology and solving the real operational challenges facing agencies, MGAs and carriers.

What external proof backs that perception?

The strongest proof is that we’re hearing it from multiple audiences. Brokers helped earn Vertafore our fifth consecutive Global 5-Star Technology and Software Provider recognition, while multiple independent organizations have recognized our products, AI innovation and customer service. And our employees are validating the experience from the inside through third-party platforms like Comparably. When customers, industry organizations and employees are independently reinforcing the same story, that means more to me than any single award.

Which recurring behavior strengthens market credibility?

I’d boil it down to a simple discipline: Listen, act and prove. We stay close to customers and industry partners through communities, events and research, we use those insights to shape where we invest, and then we come back to the market with measurable outcomes and customer stories. Repeating that cycle consistently builds far more credibility than simply telling people we’re innovative.
