As a Staff Accountant based in our New York office, you’ll develop expertise in core accounting processes while supporting a collaborative Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in the month-end close through journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis while also partnering across Finance on expense and revenue recognition, internal controls and process improvements initiatives.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience
- US GAAP & general ledger familiarity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
- Attention to detail and highly-organized
- Time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bonus points if you have:
- Netsuite experience
- Public company or public accounting experience
- CPA license (current or in process)
- Familiarity with business and financial platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Payoneer, Jira, Custodia)
How you’ll make an impact:
- Participate in the monthly close process, ensuring financial data is reconciled, documented and reported timely.
- Assist with monthly/quarterly revenue and cost of revenue close procedures, including reconciliations, allowance for doubtful accounts and bad debt expense calculations.
- Assist with accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment runs, and manage monthly expense report review/upload for US employees.
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations based on supporting schedules.
- Reconcile monthly bank activity and post related journal entries
- Support with Fixed Asset subledger activities, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation to the GL.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure accuracy of customer information, including reconciling customer accounts.
- Maintain adequate internal controls within the accounting processes to ensure well-documented, accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Provide backup support for accounting operations as needed.
