Team Overview

The Data Acquisition Management team is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, completeness, and availability of data received from clients and suppliers. The team plays a critical role in supporting TransUnion's data-driven products and analytics by managing data ingestion processes, maintaining reporting standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role reports to the Director, Data Science and Analytics. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing data ingestion processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and operational performance.
  • Monitor and validate the successful generation of data loading statistics and key process metrics to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Perform data quality reviews to assess completeness, consistency, and compliance with established reporting standards.
  • Manage data cleansing activities, resolve inconsistencies, and ensure all required reporting variables are accurately populated.
  • Coordinate and communicate changes to data requirements, ensuring alignment across entities, business partners, and stakeholders.
  • Execute testing and validation activities to confirm new solutions, enhancements, and development deliverables meet business requirements.
  • Track project activities, milestones, risks, and deliverables while providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation of data ingestion processes, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with technology and business teams to design and implement data solutions that improve operational effectiveness and user experience.
  • Monitor supplier and client reporting schedules, provide ongoing support to reporting entities, and develop improvement plans to achieve service-level and quality objectives.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in an IT Analyst, Data Analyst, or related technical role supporting data management processes.
  • Experience analyzing large datasets, identifying data quality issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve completeness and consistency.
  • Knowledge of KPI development and performance management methodologies to monitor operational effectiveness and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams to gather requirements, conduct testing, and implement process enhancements.
Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced SQL skills, including query development, data validation, stored procedures, functions, and database troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with relational databases and data management environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and data analysis tools.
  • Experience creating reports, performing data reconciliations, and analyzing operational metrics.
  • Working knowledge of Python or other automation technologies used for data processing and operational efficiency improvements.
