What you’ll do:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with 5–8 years of expertise in managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise database environments, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL and ClickHouse. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability, along with experience supporting analytical workloads and mission-critical systems. This role involves both proactive database optimization and reactive troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL and ClickHouse database servers across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and resource usage, applying proactive tuning measures.
  • Manage schemas, indexes, roles, and permissions for optimized performance and security.

Performance Optimization

  • Analyze and tune queries, indexing strategies, and database configurations for low-latency, high-throughput workloads.
  • Optimize ClickHouse for analytical and OLAP workloads, ensuring fast query responses on large datasets.

Backup, Recovery & High Availability

  • Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
  • Configure and manage high availability setups (replication, clustering, or failover solutions).

Security & Compliance

  • Apply database security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Troubleshooting & Incident Response

  • Investigate and resolve database-related incidents, performance issues, and failures.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex database problems.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work with application, analytics, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Document database configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

What you need to bring:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in database administration with strong PostgreSQL and ClickHouse expertise.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, replication, and tuning.
  • Experience with ClickHouse configuration and optimization for large-scale analytics.
  • Strong SQL and query optimization capabilities.
  • Familiarity with backup/recovery tools such as pgBackRest, Barman, and ClickHouse utilities.
  • Proficiency in Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Exposure to cloud-hosted database services like AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure Database, or GCP.
